Great tone and a comfortable body style that begs to be played

Whether you're looking for that first guitar or you're a seasoned acoustic player in need of a gigging guitar, the Sonoran SCE is a great choice. In the name of tone, the Sonoran SCE has a solid spruce top. It's a very popular acoustic guitar tonewood, because it gives you a round and powerful voice. This is the kind of guitar you'll want to bring into the coffee shop and hit the next open mic. Of course, the playability is pure Fender all the way. It has a cutaway body style, so it's easy to play up and down the neck. And speaking of neck, it's got a vintage C-shaped neck, so the Sonoran SCE will fit perfectly in your palm.

Built-in pickup system lets you plug it in onstage

Go on and hit the stage with your Sonoran SCE. It's got Fishman's Isys III active onboard preamp system, so you can plug right in and get to playing. On the Isys III's controls, you can take charge of volume, bass, mid, and treble levels.

Cool vibe with a chilled out look

Yes, it's about tone, but it's also about vibe. And the Sonoran SCE definitely has vibe and lots of it - this guitar takes us here at Sweetwater from Fort Wayne to the beach! Check out the headstock on this one - it's the same shape as Fender's iconic Stratocaster, so you've got a unique-looking acoustic guitar that's going to draw some looks. Also cool, the rosette around the soundhole sports a checkerboard design, giving the Sonoran SCE a touch of flair. Last but not least, the pickguard isn't your standard tortoise-shell color - it's a vintage-inspired design for another cool, unique touch. Like we said, this is one cool guitar.

Fender Sonoran surf green

Beautiful in appearance: The color is really eye catching The headstock gives the guitar a unique look ( instead of the traditional acoustic headstock) The weight is perfect for me as well as the reach around. The strings provide comfortable fingering and picking as well as acoustic electric tone. The preamp is balanced and works well with my Mackie processor and 4 Yamaha speakers (2 15" & 2 12") The Low E is almost bass worthy! Find it very easy to play as compared to my other Acustic Electrics that I have , Fender and a Ovation! When I sit down to play I always go for the Sonoran! Great addition to my collection at a great price and of course the service from "Sweetwater" is commendable!

Most Bang For Your Buck

This guitar was the most unique one I saw, and at first I was not terribly fond of the color, but I loved and still love the sound that I could get out of this guitar, and the color really grows on you. Definitely a steal and worth every penny spent in bringing this beauty home.

Just what I thought!!!

Not really blown away , as I have been useing Sweetwater for years and really expect to have great service and the product of my choice at a good price! My new Sonoran is a $350.00 guitar so I did not really expect anything great. ( I bought it for vacation, so I can leave it in the car and won't freak out if it was stolen! ) I had some minor set up work done to lower the action. 25 bucks. After that this thing sings! Now I have to buy a guitar for vacation that I can leave in the car and won't freak out if it is stolen!!! As always Jeff Law was great in his advice and service!

Good guitar

I don't know about the action on this... I am having trouble bending the strings past just a half-step. I love the guitar, but Sweetwater supposedly does their checks on the guitars before they send them out and evidently adjust the action? I love this guitar, but this is the one drawback. String tension is a bit too high at standard tuning thus preventing me pulling off 1+ step bends. Not cool about that, but everything else on this guitar is great.
