A Classic Single-cutaway from Schecter

The Schecter Solo II Custom solidbody is the electric guitar for you when you want the look and feel of a classic with modern features that offer a wider tonal range and a more enjoyable playing experience. The Solo II Custom is built from the tonewood combination of mahogany and figured maple for their blend of warmth and attack. A set of Schecter USA Pasadena humbuckers is based on the PAF platform. And appointments like coil splitting, a compensated nut for intonation, and locking tuners round out the Solo II Custom's feature set.

Tried-and-true construction

The basis of the Schecter Solo II Custom electric guitar is the mahogany and maple, set-neck, single-cutaway design that has found a home with countless guitarists worldwide. The tonewood combination offers a sound that has plenty of warmth and bark, but the maple delivers long sustain and a quick attack. You'll notice harmonics and transients explode from the ebony fretboard. But Schecter is far from copying an old design. Thanks to the sharp cutaway, thin "C" neck profile, and Schecter headstock, the Solo II Custom still has a look and feel all its own.

Hot-rodded PAF-style humbuckers

You'll love the clear but full-bodied tone of the Schecter USA Pasadena-series humbucking pickups in the Solo II Custom. The Pasadena neck pickup is great at achieving all of the warmth and top-end detail of great vintage-era PAF humbuckers. The Pasadena Plus in the bridge was designed for Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Zacky Vengeance. It boasts a more pronounced upper midrange that cuts right through a mix. And the increased output is great for driving your amps or pedals just a bit harder.

Touches for modern performance

The Solo II Custom does depart from a strictly vintage construction in many ways. Features like its Schecter locking tuners offer a level of tuning stability not matched by many older models of guitars. An Ernie Ball compensated nut keeps the guitar's intonation consistent across the whole range of the fretboard. And the Pasadena humbuckers can be coil split via a push-pull tone pot to access single-coil sounds. Players at Sweetwater are really impressed with how well Schecter blended the best features of vintage and modern designs in the Solo II Custom.

Schecter Solo II Custom Single-cutaway Electric Guitar Features:

  • Classic guitar design with modern features
  • Tried-and-true mahogany/maple wood combination
  • Schecter USA Pasadena pickups are takes on PAF-style humbuckers
  • Push-pull knob offers coil splitting options
  • Schecter locking tuners keep you in tune
  • Quality TonePros bridge and tailpiece
  • Spot-on intonation thanks to an Ernie Ball compensated nut

When Schecter does Gibson better than Gibson

I got this guitar for myself as my third one. After having fallen in love with Schecter based on my experiences with my second guitar, I knew I had to get another one from them. I've decided to have a rhythm guitar and felt that a single cut guitar was the way to go for that. Enter the Schecter Solo-II Custom.

This guitar is chunky and hefty (which is what I want in a Les Paul-style guitar) and the pickups sound aggressive. Currently, this is tuned to Drop C# which, when paired with these pickups, straight up punches you in the face. Whether I want to keep the pickups or replace them with Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, Bare Knuckle, EMG or Fishman pickups, that remains to be seen. Until then, I want to have fun with this guitar. This guitar is absolutely perfect for chunky and heavy metal rhythms. Chugging is absolutely satisfying.

Gibson, step your game up because Schecter, PRS and even Epiphone are making better Les Pauls than y'all. And this is coming from someone who wants to own a Gibson Les Paul Custom.

Simply Perfection

I own a lot of electric guitars from 1939 to present by Gibson, Fender, National, Aria, Teisco, and a dozen Schecter models that were made in South Korea.

This new Solo II Custom guitar is simply perfect in every respect: action, intonation, clarity, tone, frets, super hot passive pickups, tuners, fretboard, satin neck finish, and overall elegantly well-dressed aesthetics.

Any weaknesses? Not really. I love the pickups, but a split-coil awesome humbucker never sounds like an awesome single-coil. And it is a pretty heavy guitar, weighing 9.2 pounds with strap -- perhaps key to the astounding sustain and tone.

The guitar is a bargain and Sweetwater customer service continues to surprise as they keep raising the bar.

Come On Schecter

Schecter can you please...for the love of all that is good a pure in the world...make a Solo II in a cherry sunburst finish. Second...stop putting active pickups in 90% of your guitars. I await your awakening.

Better than high end single cuts!

Visited two days at Sweetwater playing various electric guitars. Mainly PRS S2, Gibson Les Paul Classic and the Schecter solo II Custom. I really wanted to fall in love with the Gibson, but every time I went back playing the Schecter Solo II, I was amazed how great it felt, sounded, and all the standard features that is on this guitar. If you're looking for a Les Paul style guitar, don't pass the Schecter Solo II Custom by without giving it a few minutes playing time. You might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

Exceeded the expectations

This is a beautiful piece of art, very nice looking, the photos does not give its real looks, tone is amazing, very versatile, high quality built, plays perfect out of the box with a low action without any buzzing.
the coil split sounds very sweet and if you raise the gain it screams.
other brands with this quality will be much higher in price.
Well done Schecter!
