Hotone Skyline Wally Looper

this thing is awesome. the only downfall i see with it is that it is so small that it is hard for someone with a huge foot (like me) to get comfortable with. but tone wise, ease of use, and functions. i give it 5 stars. this thing weighs almost as much as a regular stomp boss and is not cheaply put together. it has a metal housing the pitch shift is amazing and you can adjust your output with the rec level even when not recording. you're not going to find anything better out there for this price. like i said earlier though. the only downfall for me is that it is too small.

Awesome simple looper

If you're looking for a super elaborate looper with tons of settings and storage space this isn't for you. However, if you're like me and you just need a little extra backing from time to time this pedal works great at a fraction of the price of lots of the other popular loopers. The settings are really intuitive and the LEDs work great so you can see what you're doing, and the size makes it really nice and convenient to the point where you can keep it in your pocket or fit it in a guitar case without any trouble. It is also really substantial and well put together for such a small contraption. The pitch shift effect is kind of pointless in my opinion but it can be fun for playing around with, and it's nice to have both recording and output levels. The only other flaw I can think of is that you can't fully erase the memory without hearing about a second of playback due to the way the control scheme works. This isn't a major problem or anything, but it can kind of ruin the mystique a little when you're onstage and the audience has to hear a quick burst of the loops from the song you just finished playing before you can move on with the set. Some of the other reviews mentioned issues with noise and stuff after 25 minutes of looping; I have only used it for maybe 5 minutes at a time (again, just to add a bit of extra texture to my solo playing) so I can't really weigh in on that other than just to say that it works great for simpler applications even if it isn't ideal for more intense looping. Overall I think it's a great pedal for when you just need something small and don't need to build your whole performance on loops. It's also a great first looper for learning the basics and experimenting with that added sound - I would recommend it to anyone who does a lot of solo guitar + vocal performances as it can really add another dimension to your sound and can set you apart from the competition!

Great little looper!

I love the looper, great for playing around with loops. Would like to have one that stores more loops but considering it's size it gets the job done.

Wally World

Cool little looper. Recorded signal is pretty good! That it's sooo small, is a detraction as it doesn't have enough weight to stay where you put it! Functionally though, it's a good tool for working out arrangements, and putting parts together to see how they sound next to each other. Price-wise, it's a bargain I think!

Hotone Wally looper

Like may others I recieved two early units that were defective, that has stopped me from buying a perfect third. Also like others, mine made a tremendous electronic white noise after exactly 25 minutes on the first one, and about 30 minutes on the second. Great concept with very poor execution in some units. I hope they have solved it, just the bad reviews on the net have probably cost them a lot of money. My other issue with them is that since they are international, there doesn't seem to be much of a contact method unless you search out their international number on the internet, and no warranty, express or implied on any material you recieve in the box. I really wanted to love the thing cool lights and all, but unless they have perfected the defects, I'll pass.
