More Than a Simple Delay

The D16 Group Sigmund is much more than a delay plug-in. Yes, it delivers multi-tap delays. But, thanks to complementary modules built into each delay line, it also creates tremolo, filter, and distortion effects. Multipurpose modulators can operate as LFOs, envelopes, or peak followers, yielding analog-like delays, dynamic transient effects, and wah-wah sounds. Versatile doesn't even begin to describe Sigmund. By manipulating its parameters, you can employ Sigmund as a chorus, flanger, spatializer, and even a mastering/bus dynamic processor! Featuring flexible routing, an easy-to-use interface, and superb sound quality, the D16 Group Sigmund delay plug-in demands to be part of your bag of tonal tricks!

Four delay lines and an array of tone-shaping effects

Sigmund contains four discrete delay lines, each with its own independent set of infinitely tweakable volume, feedback, tempo, phase shift, and signal domain (M-S or L-R) parameters. Each delay line includes a multimode filter, overdrive module, and amplitude modulator, allowing you to create everything from resonant filter effects to trashy distortion to tremolo. Sigmund is also packed with two multipurpose modulators that can operate as LFOs, envelopes, or peak followers, providing you with analog-like warmth, dynamic transient tone-shaping, and expressive wah-wah sounds.

Multiple routing topologies offer incredible flexibility

Sigmund's four delay lines can be arranged in nine different ways, providing you with lots of creative options. Run your delay lines in parallel with different settings and effects on each one. Run them in parallel for a cacophonous cascade of echoes. Or run them as a typical multi-tap. The output signals of each delay line are then fed into Sigmund's internal mixer, ensuring that you have complete control of your sound. Sigmund's routing options give you plenty of room to experiment.

Endless configurations fulfill a multitude of purposes

Whether used as an insert effect or on a bus, Sigmund is extremely versatile. Besides generating standard delays, Sigmund can also be used as a tremolo, filter, or distortion effect, thanks to the complementary modules that are built into each delay line. You can use short delay times to create chorus effects. Add some feedback for flanger effects. Create spatial effects by applying delays with different signal domains and phase shifts between their channels. Use Sigmund as a mastering/bus dynamic processor by employing modulators as transient-triggerable envelopes. When we started experimenting with Sigmund here at Sweetwater, we quickly discovered just how deep this plug-in is!
