Great

After making a few settings this thing works great with logic Pro X. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful for Video Editing

By Mike from Chicago, IL on May 14, 2011 Music Background: Video and Music Production

Once I got into video editing, I started looking at various transports. I was leaning towards the advanced incarnations of this shuttle, but decided against it since most of the reviews I saw on them said it was too difficult to remember what all of the buttons were assigned to.

I've been using this in After Effects and it's wonderful. It scrubs through the video timeline fantastic. I'm able to keep one hand on my mouse & the other on the transport while editing. What would have taken me an hour before now takes minutes. And I haven't even set the five buttons yet; I'm just using the jog and scrub features.

I look forward to trying it out with Pro Tools this weekend. It takes some getting used to having both hands on controls instead of one on the keyboard, but it works fantastic once you get the hang of it.

I've spent alot of money on crappy software/hardware over the years that I rarely or never use. I've already gotten my money's worth out of this in the first week.

Great for the money

Nice little piece of gear. The only reason I give it a 4 instead of a 5 is because it doesn't exactly feel solid...it tends to move on me just a bit. Other than that I have not problems with it. I've programed it to several different programs with no trouble and between this and my programmable mouse I touch the keyboard a lot less.
Now, if I was being perfectly honest I'd say it probably doesn't improve my overall speed of production than if I just kept my left hand on the keyboard, but it does make me FEEL like I'm working faster which I think is an important thing.
