A quality bass with stripped-down looks

Sometimes less is more, and the Schecter Stiletto-4 Session bass is no exception. The stripped-down cosmetics give this bass a no-frills look, but nothing could be further from the truth. Schecter loaded this beast with a pair of EMG pickups and an 18-volt 3-band active EQ, so you can nail every tone under the sun. The rugged hardware is ready for all the abuse you can dish out. The black hardware and fretboard inlays, played against the natural finish of the Schecter Stiletto-4 Session bass, give this bass a cool look that will command attention at any gig.

Humbucking EMG pickups deliver hot bass tones

This bass is ready for a workout. Schecter put a pair of EMG pickups in the Stiletto-4 Session bass to make sure it could handle anything that was thrown at it. The EMG 35DC ("Dual Coil") uses parallel coils and an ultra-low-noise preamp to give you premium performance with very low noise. For more midrange growl and punch, Schecter included the EMG 35J in the bridge position. Take it from Sweetwater's bass players, these EMG pickups deliver big bass tones while being extremely quiet. No matter what type of gig or session you're at, the Schecter Stiletto-4 Session bass has the tones you need.

Powerful 3-band EQ lets you dial in the perfect tone

When you need a specific tone for a session, there's nothing like an active EQ. The Schecter Stiletto-4 Session bass sports a powerful 18-volt 3-band EQ that gives you more headroom and a smoother low end. From funk to jazz to nu-metal, the Stiletto-4 Session's EQ has the tone-sculpting power you need in a bass.

Schecter Stiletto-4 Session Bass Guitar Features:
  • Comfortable contoured swamp ash body with stripped-down cosmetics
  • Active EMG pickups deliver a broad range of tone
  • Active 18-volt 3-band EQ circuit lets you dial in the perfect bass sound
  • Schecter Custom string-through-body/top-load bridge
  • Grover bass tuners
Command the low end at any gig with the Schecter Stiletto-4 Session bass!

Well worth it - absolutely incredible!!

Background: I've been playing a 5 string Ibanez SR505 for the last year or so. For those unfamiliar, it's a mahogany body with Bartolini pickups and a rosewood fret board. My 5-string definitely can bring the 'BOOM' (and I'd recommend one for those interested very warm tone 5-string) but I wanted a 4-string setup for DGCF. Review: Unfortunately for my 5-string, I can't put this thing down. The tone is perfect (for what I wanted anyway) and the EQ gives you a lot of control. I'm running Ernie Ball power slinkies (highly recommend those as well) and the punch this bass delivers is fantastic. I'll admit I was a bit nervous about buying one of these without playing it first. I have a desk job and spend most of my time on a computer... so I need a bass that feels 'just right' otherwise I'll pay the price with my hands. Sweetwater took good care of me and set this thing up for mid to low action and it plays phenomenally - I played for a few hours straight and my hands were fine. Dropping down to CGCF was fine as well - no nasty fret buzz at all with normal plucking (really digging in obviously resulted in a little, but it wasn't very noticeable). Overall this is an incredible bass with a very distinct look. I normally prefer 'dark basses' that are either Black or a deeper wood color - but the look of this one grew on my quickly and I couldn't be happier with it. I'd say, for me and what I was looking for, this bass is perfect in every way. Everyone has different taste when it comes to tone and how an instrument feels, but if you're in the market for a bass around this price range do yourself a favor and at least try one of these if you can. As far as Sweetwater goes... their customer service is top-shelf and miles ahead of many companies I've done business with. Tyler Berggren was fantastic to work with; I highly recommend him! The process I went thru when I was selecting my next bass involved a lot of emails between Tyler and I ( we don't have any local shops that sell Schecter products so I had to rely on Tyler to answer the questions I had), and a couple phone calls. He was very quick to reply, knew what he was talking about, and has taken good care of me for a couple purchases now.
