Powerful Samson Amp Is Studio Quiet

Samson doesn't "just" manufacture some of the finest wireless systems in the world. They also make great power amps, like the high quality, very affordable Servo Series. These compact, durable amps pack a lot of punch and are versatile enough for both live and studio applications. All three models include circuitry protection against overheating and over current, and the Servo 200, 300 and 600 feature relay-controlled power-on circuitry that prevents speaker "thumps." To keep the Servo Series amplifiers running cool, their design employs twin internal wind tunnels with forced-air cooling via two temperature-sensitive, variable speed fans, which greatly reduce the chance of thermal and overheating problems. The sound is clean, powerful and transparent. This is truly professional sound at a price anyone can afford.

Fantastic

Sturdy construction, quiet, and most importantly... sounds GREAT. Have this powering some PSB GT1s... 1/4" into the servo 300 from an apogee duet 2 and the sound quality is phenomenal. Would recommend to anyone.

Samson has me hooked.

What can I say? When it comes to power amplifiers for my sound systems, I'm a Samson fanatic (I own 5 of them). I was originally drawn to Samson amplifiers because of their balanced aesthetics (I know, not the best reason to base a purchasing decision on). But the clean sound, features, reasonable price, and reliability made an instant believer out of me. The 10 segment LED makes it easy to adjust the amp for maximum output while staying in the "safe zone". I prefer using the 1/4" balanced input connectors, but RCA unbalanced jacks are also provided. The variable-speed fan insures that the amp stays cool. The protection circuitry also works great, as I found out when one of my speaker cables shorted out. The only thing on my "wish list" is Speakon output connectors as I've had the 1/4" plugs pull out when running other wires to the rack. I make up my own speaker cables so switched to banana jacks and have had less problems, but Speakon should be the standard for all amplifier outputs. That's the only thing that kept from giving this amp a 5.
