The ingredient that completes the tone

This pedal is my new favorite pedal that I have on my board. It's simple to use and can discover that elusive quality to your tone that you just can't quite find. This pedal can add a subtle or drastic amount of Mid and High End frequency to your tone to help you cut through darker mixes. When it comes to gain, this can allow you to keep all of that thumpy low end and saturation that you want while giving you punch and clarity in order to boost your dynamics. However, the pedal does request that you, the player, tweak your amp settings to compensate for the large amount of high end the pedal adds (this goes for clean tone as well). I play a Peavey Classic 50 Tube head with the clean channel set pretty chimy with an Epiphone Les Paul Pro fitted with a Seymour Duncan Custom 5 bridge pickup and stock Alnico in the neck. The screaming bird, with some amp settings being tweaked for compensation, allows me to get some very Vox AC15, AC30 esque clean tones. For gain, I play a Marshall Class 5 tube head (I know that low wattage sometimes means low power and therefore bad tone, but no. Not at all) with all the knobs just about all the way up except for the bass, which is dialed a little lower, with the bird, and maybe any typical green OD pedal, I can get tones like Tony Iommi, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, etc. The gain and low end frequencies smooth themselves out nicely, and the high end frequencies sparkle without getting too shrill and unusable. My little Class 5 can now sound like an early 70s plexi, or a JCM 800. To sum it up, this pedal can be a really useful tool for those who want to get some punch, clarity, and sparkle back into their rig. I would recomment this pedal to anyone who is willing to tone up their sound by their ears and not by their sight, since the pedal does require some amp tweaking and that some players have anxiety when it comes to changing up their amp's sweet spot. Trust me, this pedal is the sweet spot. Don't be afraid to turn knobs again.
