If you are looking for a great high quality set of plug-ins, I highly recommend these. The Scarlett bundle gives you the use of four great plug-ins that can be used in any mix environment without a lot of tweaking. I recently got this and have been using the reverb on vocal tracks, and I have to say that I am very impressed! For 99 bucks, you need to have them in your arsenal! Quick, easy, GREAT sound, and Focusrite quality!
I'll be reaching for these all the time from now on. No graphic displays or visual reference for your tweaking other than the analog style meters. Which beautifully forces you to use your ears and man these plugs sound fantastic!
The reverb is flat out amazing. I did not think a reverb plug could touch it's hardware counter part but man this one does! It is lush, warm and rich. I would pay $99 for the reverb alone... it's that good. Bottom line, if you've got a pristine frontend with quality pre's and converters these plugs will put a huge smile on your face. If you've got a crap frontend, you won't hear how truly good they are.
Scarlett Plug Ins
Simply - I am totally blown away. I will be leaving my studio extremely happy tonight. I received this suite with the purchase of my Scarlett Interface. I use a Duet 2 Interface with a Mac, but I write drums on a PC, so I needed to get an interface that would still work with my PC. I bought the Scarlett because it seemed like a great and simple interface at a great price. When I saw it came with this plug in suite, I was not even really excited. Well here I sit trying to mix drums and none of my waves or logic reverbs were right for the snare or toms. Then I remembered, Oh yeah, the new Scarlett came with a reverb plug in I think. Hmm. let me check that out. HOLY SMOKES!! Perfect!!!!! The reverb and compressor are easy to use, and sound very natural. Every want just a touch of reverb around a snare of vocal and everything seems to be either too gate like, or too reflective. This is the cure. I have only used it for an hour, but i can tell that this reverb will now be my go to reverb for everything. I tell you what, this is 99 bucks well spent. Really Great. Great set of tools. Or, You can buy the scarlett 2x2 interface instead of the software and end up both the plug ins and a sweet interface for 50 bucks more. I am now a Focusrite Harware and SOFTWARE fan.
Well as always my sales rep Mark Magdich is right, i had asked him about the Focusrite Scarlet after i had read about it in the Sweetwater catalog, and told him how i always lusted after the red series pre's and compressors well let me tell you i just finished doing a mix a hip hop song with an R&B beat the compressors were smooth and hardly there not getting in the way, the eq was nice gave me a little presence boost and brought out the vocals nicely. The gate i was very impressed with none of that chirping or hiccup that u get with some gates very smooth and pleasing for me. Next but not last was the reverb this is not a convolution verb just a simple great sounding verb that works well, i was able to add some nice sweetening to the vocals and it helped bring it all together. i can see these plugs will get a lot of use in my studio and for 99.00 bucks you can't go wrong thanks Mark.
