Amazing tube power, sound, and feel

Sounds amazing! My band plays blues rock with a bit of soul thrown in. This thing is super responsive to touch and can really get gritty but that being said has tons of headroom. We paired it with the Ampeg 6x10 and life is good! That low b string sings!

    SVT-VR aka Beast

I have been playing for Ten plus years. I finally got a Pro Bass last year (pedulla) and have been playing through a Hartke Amp, I was very happy with the sound I was getting, because I didn't know any better. The SVT-VR is a BEAST! The sounds I get out of it are so clear I can hear faults in my playing I didnt even know were there. Its expensive and heavy as was stated before but so is anything that has this kind of quality.Looking forward to recording our next cd with it.

You ask if I like my new gear

So recently purchased an SVT VR from you guys and what I can tell you is that I don't like it, I absolutely LOVE it! Best amp I've ever owned and of course, you guys were top notch in service as usual. Thank you so very much.

    Worth Every Penny

Apparently Ampeg has finally worked out the kinks that allegedly plagued the first few years of production with this amp, because mine is every bit the F1 car of bass heads I anticipated it to be. Purpose built for the unmistakable roar of nearly every classic rock backline, I have been surprised at how versatile this unit actually is. Working with the different inputs and channels (including bridging them) gives a huge array of tonal options, even with my trusty-if-not-boring P-bass. Not as loud as the SVT Classic in terms of pure decibel output, but the SVT-VR certainly has a more organic feel and way, way more overdrive. And it's certainly more than loud enough.

Yes, it weighs a ton. Yes, it's expensive. And yes, it's going to cost half a paycheck to re-tube it. But plug into one of these through an 8x10 cab and watch your SVT4 start gathering dust. Big thanks to my sales engineer Mike Bonaldino for the advice and help on this purchase!
