    Best cab ever!

I have had many different cabinet confurations, from many brands, 210, 410, 412, 410 & 115, 112. This 610 in the best cabinet I have ever owned, from the fast response, to the great low end, and the excellent tone, for what ever style you play, this cab can do it. it is fairly easy to transport, and fits in the back set of my Camry! My only regret is, I did not got with this sooner. Brian and all the Sweetwater staff are very helpful, and extremely knowledgeable.

    Worth it!

I hook this loud one up to my Ampeg Svt-3 Pro. It's an intresting line up because the pro is 450 watts 150 watts below the "safe" amount of air this cab can blow comfortable, which is around 600 watts. And its termendous. I play In a Metal band , and you know how it can be.... Noizy! I kid you not, I can and honestly be the loudest one in the band (Petriphoria) but do to equalization of a band I try to stay close to there volumes, but what can I do ignore all the fat bass sound I can deliver easily with the great misses 6x10? Great cab. Very economical fits long ways behind most vans and trucks. Dont be suprize how easy the black lineing around the amp scraps off, or how easly the weels get beat up (but dont give out). Definitely worth it.

The best all around bass cabinet

I've owned quite a few cabinets in my days, SWR, Ampeg, GK. This one is the best sounding cab you can get anywhere near this price. Prior to buying this a year and a half ago, I used the 410hlf for a couple years. Although the 410hlf is amazing in it's own right, it's really tuned too low and lacks the informative mids you'll find in really high end cabs. Don't get me wrong, this thing will blow the 410hlf out of the water on lows if you make it, but it's an extremely natural sounding cab. It's like a Bergantino without the extra price. If you're looking for something that can handle your 5 string well and sounds like a boutique cab, this is the best kept secret in the industry.

    The SVT-610HLF Bass Cab

Simply put a superb bass cab...not too heavy to move around yet not "cheapy" feeling or too light ..sweet deep low bass and nice mid to high's as well.......my band mates love the thing..I'd never use another.I have to admit standing on stage in front of this cab?... makes it all worth while.. nice bell-like tones and deep lows ...as a good bass cab should be.

The SVT610HLF is a truely awesome cab, it creates and delivers more low end that a 810 due to the front venting system, it absolutely rocks.

Thunderous Bass from a compact cabinet

In terms of sound, this cabinet has more low end than one would think possible for the size of it. You'd expect there to be 15" speakers in it to reproduce some of the lower frequencies that it does. A lot of this has to do with the venting. Most people I have talked to about it say they prefer the 6 x 10 cab to the 8 x 10. I tend to agree. The 8x10 lacks the venting that the 6x10 has, and you can hear the difference. I play in a metal band, and until I got the 6x10 I'd never heard my guitar player ask me to turn down.

I like the fact that you can use either 1/4" or Speakon connections. I always prefer Speakon, as they are more efficient, handle more power, and lock into connection. My amp loves it, I have a ton of headroom now.

Even though the cabinet is heavy (115lbs), it is designed so that it perfectly balances on the casters when you tilt the cab using the grab bar. It feels like wheeling an empty hand truck! The only problem there is that without strapping the cabinet in, it tends to shift during transport in the band's trailer.

The reason I gave the cab 4.5 out of 5 is that the wood in the construction of the cab is thinner than they used to...I had a much older 8x10 that had thicker wood. Having said that, I would buy another in a second.
