Liberate Your Strat

Seymour Duncan's Classic Fully Loaded Liberator Pickguard for Strat is your answer to a classic problem. Love the chime and quack of a vintage Strat - but not the noise you can get with single-coils? This set gives you a complete, easy-to-install Strat pickguard loaded with three great-sounding Duncan Stack Plus pickups - as well as Duncan's revolutionary Liberator System, for convenient, solder-free pickup swapping. You also get a coil-splitter, so you can run your pups in single-coil mode if you want. Your Strat called - it wants Seymour Duncan's Classic Fully Loaded Liberator Pickguard.

Seymour Duncan Classic Fully Loaded Liberator Pickguard for Strat at a Glance:
  • All the Strat tone you know and love
  • Look, Ma - no noise!
  • Solder-free pickup swaps
All the Strat tone you know and love

Seymour Duncan's Classic Fully Loaded Liberator Pickguard arms your Strat with three Stack Plus pickups: a Vintage Hot Stack Plus in neck position, a Classic Stack Plus in middle, and a Custom Stack Plus at the bridge. this pickup combination gives you enormous tone, without the noise. You get beefy output, while retaining the Strat's characteristic spank, sparkle, chime, and chunk.

Look, Ma - no noise!

Seymour Duncan's patented Stack Plus design injects tunable negative hum into the pickup circuit to cancel out hum - and it works like a charm, giving you noise-free humbucker operation, but with the sound of single-coils. Every pickup is individually tuned at the Duncan factory to serve up traditional single-coil sound, without hum. If you want to run your pickups in single-coil mode, however, you also get a coil-splitter. How's that for freedom of choice!

Solder-free pickup swaps

Seymour Duncan's Liberator Solderless Pickup Change System is a godsend. Think of it as a patch bay for your pickups. But are the connections as secure as solder joints, you ask? Well, let's put it this way: if you have an inexpensive hardware-store soldering iron and little-or-no experience making solder connections, a Liberator connection is going to be far superior to a less-then-perfect solder joint (and just as effective as a proper one). Everything is color-coded and all you need is a screwdriver - so you can concentrate on being a musician, instead of an engineer. With Duncan's Liberator system, changing pickups is a piece of cake.

Seymour Duncan Classic Fully Loaded Liberator Pickguard for Strat Features:
  • Custom Stack Plus in bridge position
  • Classic Stack Plus in middle position
  • Vintage Hot Stack Plus in neck position
  • Sounds great on well-balanced instruments with either maple or rosewood fingerboards
  • Recommended for country, pop, surf, rockabilly, blues, ska and classic rock
  • Liberator system lets you swap pickups using only a screwdriver

No more hiss

Fit perfectly. Not sure about the stereo jack though. I used the original. Only strange thing was my strat had a ground wire from the body of the guitar and the tremolo that had to be merged with the jack ground to insert in to the volume pot and tightened. Not as easy as it sounds but it got done.

Seymour Duncan Classic Fully Loaded Pickguard

A great and versatile pickguard, easy to install.

Bought this for my Strat which was originally in an HSS configuration. I wanted something closer to a traditional Strat but without 60 cycle hum of single coils. The bridge pickup is hot as some have described, but still maintains a tone similar to an SSL-5. Obviously the technology can't match the tone of the single coils, but it does come pretty close. Either way, the sound and tone is very high quality. The neck pickup is fat and clear. The middle pickup produces the best clean tone, in part due to it's lower output. The setup was relatively easy. The only problem I had was with the output jack that came with it. It was clearly a stereo jack, which made it too long to fit in the cavity of my guitar, but I just stuck with the original output jack, which I did have to solder. Additionally, I don't know if the stereo output jack would have worked, as I've never used one of those before except with active pickups. Overall, I would highly recommend it for someone to maintain a Strat-like tone without the noise. As always, Sweetwater treated me well and I'll definitely keep buying product from them.

Very nice

The pickups Seymour Duncan have chosen to put in this pickgaurd work very well together. The bridge pickup has a nice bite and the neck has a great vintage tone (I love this one). Combine them with the middle and get a great strat quack. The coil stack design of all 3 pickups make them very quiet but they can be switched to true single coil mode by pulling up the tone 2 control. I had a little problem with the pickguard fit. I had to trim a little at the bridge to make it work. All in all, a great product.

Great sound!

Best sound I have been able to get out of a strat! Beware however if you are looking for a classic strat sound because you will only get it out of the neck and middle. The Bridge is on the verge of sounding like a slightly hot humbucker. Some may not like this but it works great for what I am using it for and allows lots of versatility. Only complaint is the diagram in the box and directions only allow you to ground to the tremolo, the second ground in an American strat that goes in to the body below the pickups cant be used. Thru trial and error instaling I figured this out and had to pull everything out and start over but was a simple fix. Total instilation time is around 45 minutes to install and do a complete setup. PS great follow up on satisfaction by the Sweetwater team!
