Seymour Duncan Pickups: It's All About the Tone

Designed to boost the output of your Tele, the STHR-1 Hot Rails pickup is a high-output, single-coil-sized humbucker. This rails-style pickup is a direct replacement for an existing Tele neck pickup and uses a ceramic magnet and over-wound coils to provide a heavy distorted sound with excellent sustain. The STHR-1 boasts a chunky midrange, letting your Tele really cut through the mix. If you're looking to augment your Tele tone with something a bit more on the rude side, drop in a STHR-1 Hot Rails and start rocking!

Review Seymour Duncan STHR-1n Hot Rails Rythm Telecaster Guitar Pickup Neck Black

I do like the product, and it will stay in my American Special Telecaster. I am still getting the feel for this one, but the tone is killer. One thing I had to do to install this pick up though was to widen the hole a hair (litterally a hair on each side with sandpaper) in the pick guard because the protective covering around the coil winding was catching on the edges slightly. At first I found the tone a little on the dark side so I switched to 500k pots and a 22uf capacitor. This gave me the ability to brighten up the tone when I desire.

Face melter...well almost...

I've used these before...they pack a lot of punch but with great tone. A lot better than routing for a full size humbucker...same size as the stock pickup. It will make your Tele a lot more versatile with a fat tone with a lot of punch, much louder than stock. Middle position tone is great.
