Built for premium tone

Rich, detailed overtones abound from the Songwriter Studio's solid rosewood back and sides, and they look fantastic. What's more, the Songwriter Studio is topped with solid Sitka spruce, adding rich and mellow accents to your sound. When you imagine what an acoustic guitar is supposed to sound like, this is it! Gibson even incorporated 1930s-style scalloped "X" bracing, further enhancing your tone and volume.

Exceptionally smooth playability

The Songwriter Studio has a Round neck profile that feels at home in your hand whether you're playing chords or single-note lines. As you play your way up the fretboard, you'll definitely appreciate the smooth feel of the rolled fingerboard edges. With a neck that plays this smooth you'll be able to play longer with less fatigue.

The Gibson Acoustic Songwriter Studio comes with LR Baggs's popular VTC acoustic pickup system, a popular choice among Sweetwater's acoustic guitarists. This system features a low-profile under-saddle transducer that's proven more stable and durable than many standard ribbon-type pickups. Its sleek and effective design removes unnecessary internal components to enhance the coupling between the pickup and the guitar and improve the sensitivity of the transducer for a robust, lively, and natural acoustic sound with excellent dynamics and delicate high end. Combined with an onboard preamplifier with an unobtrusive and removable volume control, mounted just inside the soundhole, the VTC gives your Gibson Acoustic Songwriter Studio the amplification you need, with zero compromises for tone or convenience.

Gibson Acoustic Songwriter Studio Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:
  • A well-appointed guitar that's also perfect for performance
  • Solid sitka spruce top and rosewood back/sides give you a wide tonal range with excellent dynamic response
  • LR Baggs VTC electronics transfer every nuance of your tone to your PA or amp
  • Softened fingerboard edge adds increased playing comfort

Beautiful Sound

I'm giving the Gibson Songwriter 4.5 because I had to lower the action for personal preference. Other then the action the guitar is beautiful, the fit and finish is perfect I love the country look and style. The sound is clear and full when plugged in it even gets better. I own Taylor and Martin guitars but the Gibson Songwriter is my favorite not because of the feel of the neck or the look but the sound. I've spent a lot of money on other guitars thinking they would be good enough for a 57 year old that plays for the love of playing the guitar, do your self a favor and test drive a few and get the one that makes you happy in the end it's cheeper. You will love this Gibson Songwriter Studio !
