A Powerful 4-string Soundgear Bass

The Ibanez SR800 4-string electric bass's thin 5-piece jatoba and bubinga neck is one of the fastest necks in its class. You won't believe how fluidly this neck plays and how effortlessly you can access the upper frets. The mahogany body with burl poplar top is comfortable for hours of playing and adds a mid-focused character to the bass's tone. And the Ibanez SR800's Bartolini pickups and Ibanez MK-1 3-band EQ will dial in earthshaking lows and crystal-clear highs easily. The SR800 is a beautiful 4-string with a ton of sonic firepower.

Built for tone and comfort

The Soundgear series from Ibanez offers players a sleek alternative to many popular basses on the market today. The SR800's contoured mahogany body with poplar burl top provides a warm, woody tone that accentuates the instrument's low end. Its thin construction and rounded profile help the bass hug the curves of your body for exceptional comfort. It also keeps the SR800 lightweight to protect your shoulder from undue strain throughout a performance.

Fast neck for nimble runs

The Ibanez SR800 boasts an effortlessly playable 5-piece jatoba and bubinga neck. The neck's thin and narrow contour is a favorite among many bassists, especially here at Sweetwater. Its 5-piece construction is very stable under environmental stresses. And the abalone inlays on the rosewood fingerboard pair beautifully with the neck woods and poplar/mahogany body to complete the picture. And the body's cutaways are deep enough to offer great upper-fret access.

Flexible Bartolini electronics

Thanks to the Bartolini MK-1 pickups and Ibanez EQB-IIIS 3-band EQ, there are an incredibly wide range of tones available in this 4-string bass. Soloing the neck pickup with a bit of a bass boost is wonderful for reggae. Just scoop the mids for a very modern slap tone. Or grab a pick, and this system will easily elicit a great hard rock drive. The SR800 is great for players who find themselves hopping from genre to genre, or who just want to take total control of their sound.

Ibanez SR800 4-string Electric Bass Guitar Features:
  • 4-string active bass guitar
  • SR4 5-piece jatoba/bubinga neck is fast and stable
  • Bartolini MK-1 pickups and EQB-IIIS preamp offer wide tonal control
  • Accu-cast B300 bridge is rock solid
  • Extended neck joint gives great access to the higher frets
  • Gold hardware
The SR800 is great for gigging bassists who need a world of tones.

Great Bass Guitar

There was a time that Ibanez was considered a guitar that you bought because you could not afford a name brand. But I'm here to tell you that nothing is further from the truth. I received my new SR800AWT and unpacked it to my liking. As usual, Sweetwater did their 55 point set up and examination. This bass played almost by itself and I was amazed at the many different tones I could get out of it. I own a Rickenbacker 4001 stereo bass, which I love, but this will also be one of my favorites. It's lightweight, has a fantastic finish, great playing neck and it's easy to play. This was one of my better purchases and one that I will enjoy for a long time to come. And, Thank You, Sweetwater for the personal touch that you always add when I buy items from your company. With the combination of Sweetwater and Ibanez, you have a very satisfied customer here. If you are looking for a good playing bass, check this beauty out. You won't be disappointed at all.
