WHAT A BASS! this is DEEP mind blowing bass.....

the parametric EQ this instrument has is AMAZING! apart from two band active eq and REALLY wonderful pickups, the parametric lets me dial in sounds that NO other bass has. it plays NICE. its DEEP. a bit heavy, but the neck lets me do great things. the quality is outstanding, AS USUAL for ibanez . its my third bass from ibanez, I LOVE all their instruments

Visually stunning, well balanced, and the narrow neck makes it easy to play. The slotted bridge makes changing strings a breeze and very easy to adjust for the set-up you want.

The "Style Sweep" EQ is a bit confusing at first and takes some getting used to but once you figure it out, the range of sounds available is amazing.

    I love it!

    ...shouldn't have sold it...

I purchased this bass a little while back, and sold it about a year ago. I regret selling it. Very comfortable, lightweight, sounds great, plays great. If you're a fan of Ibanez SR basses, this bass is a fantastic deal. For the price of an upper entry-level or intermediate bass, you are getting some boutique bass features. The 5-piece maple/rosewood laminated neck is strong and stable. The Ibanez Ceramic Arched Pickups (CAP) are well balanced, and because they are arched with the fingerboard radius, you don't get quiet notes on the A and D strings like with traditional J-style pups. The radius gives the same distance between each string to the pickup, so you get very even output from string to string. The preamp on this bass is powerful, so use it with care or you may end up with an unusable tone. I'm not crazy about the carved top on this bass. It is beautiful, and the contours are sleek looking. I just prefer a more traditional contour, like forearm and belly cutouts. The hardware is not top notch, but it is a far cry from cheapo. Overall, I was pleased with this bass for the time that I had it, and I plan on purchasing an Ibanez 6-string bass soon.
