Tremendous Bass Value

What a beauty - and tonal monster. The Ibanez SR1800E electric bass guitar proves that striking looks and timeless bass tone don't have to cost a fortune. Indeed, the SR1800E is an outstanding value. Start with that mahogany body, topped with flame maple and rosewood. Great looks. Then add in the smooth-playing 5-piece Wenge/Bubinga neck, decked out with a rosewood fingerboard and abalone oval inlays. This is one great-looking, great-playing bass. Still, the SR1800E's first priority is tone, and that's just what the two Nordstrand Big Single pickups deliver. And with the 3-band EQ, you'll have more than enough tonal and shaping power to hit the stage or studio with any band. Any musician at Sweetwater will agree, the Ibanez SR1800E is a great bass guitar.

Precision-made with great tonewoods

Ibanez makes some very fine instruments, including the SR1800E four-string bass. Ibanez chose a mahogany body for exceptional low-end impact and rich sustain. It's topped with rosewood wings and flamed maple center pieces, a striking look that also enhances your tone. And the five-piece wenge/bubinga neck with KTS Titanium rods doesn't just look great, it's incredibly strong to resist warping and twisting over the years.

Great tone from Nordstrand Big Single pickups

Whether you're playing slap-heavy funk, or warmly muted reggae tones, the SR1800E's pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups have you covered. These pickups have a rich and solid character to them, with powerful sound-shaping potential from the onboard EQ-IIISC controls. You have control over boost/cut for bass, mid, and high frequencies, with a mid-frequency switch to fine-tune your midrange tone.

Mono-rail IV bridge enhances definition

The SR1800E packs the ultra-innovative Mono-rail IV bridge with locking saddles, which allows each string to fully vibrate without any interference with the other strings. That means that no matter how fast you play across the strings, each note will ring clear and true.

Ibanez SR1800E Four-string Electric Bass Guitar Features:
  • Fast-playing bass with premium tonewoods
  • Gorgeous looks from the mahogany body topped with rosewood wings and flame maple centers
  • Long-term reliability from the 5-pc SR4 wenge/bubinga neck
  • Awesome sustain and note separation from the Mono-rail IV bridge
  • Big bold tone from Nordstrand Bing Single pickups
  • EQB-IIISC 3-band EQ for fine-tuning your tone
  • Includes Deluxe gig-bag
The Ibanez SR1800E is a premium performer!

Greatest Bass in the World

This bass was made with perfection in mind. The neck is perfect for speed and hammer-ons, the body is sturdy and at a nice weight, and the play-ability is off the charts. The pickups, don't get me started on how perfect they are. These pickups make it sound like its worth $5000. The first time i ever played it i was seriously convinced that angels came down and plucked the strings. This bass not only looks beautiful, but it will make you feel like a god!

Like a glove

I had been looking for a higher end bass in this price range for several months. Initially, I went with a American Standard Jazz Bass with the maple neck. Something about it just didn't feel right, even after I took it in for a setup and fret dress. The Jazz bass is iconic so I stuck with it until I could find my groove. The only problem was that my groove was hiding in this bass all along. Initially, I was drawn to it for the sheer looks of it. I mean look at this thing! But it's worth goes way beyond its looks. The Norstrand pickups sound fat and warm and are the perfect placement and height for resting your thumb, unlike the Jazz bass, which when properly setup, tends to have low neck pickup that's hard to comfortably rest your thumb on. The body is very light and the neck is smooth like butter. Sounded great with round wounds but I've put on some rotosound 66 flat wounds and it's warm, present, punchy and smooth. With three band Eq you can do a lot to shape the sound you want. I've been playing for 20 years, mostly on bright sounding precision and some jazz, but Ibanez has definitely made its mark with this series. Played through a Fender Rumble or Aguilar Tone Hammer and you've got a great sound.

Sweet Fancy Moses

First it's beautifully crafted with no cosmetic flaws. Out of the box. The relief was perfect, I made a small adjustment in string height to eliminate some fret buzz (This is personal preference and have made this adjustment on every bass I have ever owned) other than that she plays as good as she looks! Awesome tone and tone adjustments. I play rock, but I can't imagine not being able to dial up just about anything outta this beauty sound wise that you could imagine. The Nordstrand pickups sound awesome and I really like the monorail bridge idea, and think that it does improve sustainability over my other basses. I have the SR1405E as well, both of these instruments perform like thoroughbreds!

Ibanez SR1800

The Ibanez SR1800 is a very well constructed bass. This is the third Ibanez that I have owned and it continues to stand up to its name. First the dark and light wood configuration makes the bass a striking piece to look at. This bass has phenomenal sound and is easy to play. After careful consideration I am glad that I made the decision to purchase the SR1800. It is a great instrument.
