A Humbucker-sized P-90

The P-90 is a legend. The SPH90-1n Phat Cat from Seymour Duncan lets those of us with humbucker-equipped guitars tap into that great sound with a P-90 designed to fit a humbucker-sized opening. The P-90 gives you a tone that cuts through the mix, thanks to a strong midrange and treble response, and the bottom end is warm and spongy. The nickel cover gives your guitar a vintage-style look. Just because your guitar was born with humbuckers doesn't mean you're locked into that sound. Drop a SPH90-1n Phat Cat in and enjoy the classic sound of a P-90 in your favorite guitar!

Serious Tone

I swapped this with a 496R ceramic magnet humbucker I had in the neck of a '99 Les Paul Classic. I can now make my Les Paul quack,in a good way! The versatility of this pickup is world class.Paired with a P.A.F. in the bridge ,it gives me all the tonal options I need.Serious upgrade!!

Clarity and Rock

Installed this pickup on my Telecaster. I had a single coil stock pickup and when I discovered my tele was able to fit a hum bucker setup I was so excited. I researched different pickups and realized that a lot of Pros were using this for Rock. I play in a band and as soon as I installed this pickup the clarity, gain, and quality of sound was just night and day! So glad I got it, feel like I'm playing a million dollar guitar now!

These are HOT P-90s

Over two years of use and comparing to many high-end Humbuckers in two Gibson LPs ('92 Standard and '04 R8), these have become my pickup of choice for both high output and P-90 tone. They are higher-output than most PAF-style Humbuckers, but with that inimitable P-90 clarity and smooth bite. If you get one, put it in the neck, and try it in the bridge as well. My bridge Cat came with a lead too short to reach the neck, so I'd recommend against buying only a bridge pickup first. With both pickups on, they are hum canceling, but mine don't hum any more than Humbuckers anyway.

Seymour Duncan SPH90-1n

Put this in the neck position on my 1973 Tele. Love it. Makes for a richer & beefier sound. not as flat sounding as a humbucker.

Just right

I used this pup to replace a humbucker in my LP because the tone and individual notes were a little muddled on the low end. I use a Fender reverb deluxe and the tone and clarity are much better with this pup. Being an intermediate guitarist I am still figuring things out but I am really pleased with this pup and P-90 in general for the tone I want. The customer service from AJ was exemplary as always.
