Powerful 7-string at a Great Value
The Jackson X Series SLATXSD3-7 is a sleek 7-string electric that is well appointed for high-gain performance with ground-rumbling low end. It has a fast, through-body maple neck with graphite reinforcement for maximum stability, while its compound-radius fingerboard offers a comfortable and fast playing experience. And a duo of Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups pair with this guitar's 26.5" scale length to deliver a powerful tone with a tight-sounding low end. The Jackson SLATXSD3-7 delivers killer tone, playability, and looks at an outstanding value.
Elegant and aggressive styling
The SLATXSD3-7 takes many of its characteristics from Jackson's famed Soloist design. But this 7-string takes it a step further with a beautifully arched top on its basswood body. Basswood is a favorite among many of the high-gain junkies at Sweetwater for its balanced sound and lighter weight. The body also boasts deep contours and cutaways to maximize your comfort and ability to access all 24 of the guitar's jumbo frets. Finally, Jackson loaded the SLATXSD3-7 with a Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo for precise pitch and tuning control.
High-performance neck design
Since the dawn of the company, Jackson guitars have been famous for their neck designs. The neck on the SLATXSD3-7 is a fantastic example of why that is. This maple neck is connected to the body via neck-through construction. This optimizes your sustain as well as the overall stability of the instrument. Its 26.5" scale length ensures you get the punchiest tone from the low tunings the 7-string design has to offer. And the rosewood fretboard boasts a compound-radius of 12" to 16" and is expertly ornamented with fretboard binding and understated piranha pearloid inlays.
Powerful duet of Seymour Duncan Blackout humbuckers
When it comes to smooth, heavy, and tight metal tones, it's hard to beat the SLATXSD3-7's Seymour Duncan active Blackout pickups. Blackouts give this Jackson 7-string the intensity you crave. These active pickups give you 12dB less noise than traditional humbuckers, with more lows, highs, and output. So whether you're looking for clean tones with a very pure character or the ability to punch your amp hard enough to elicit its tightest and most harmonically rich gain, the Blackout humbucking pickups in the SLATXSD3-7 will get you there.
