Infinitely Versatile AVB Stagebox and Rackmount Mixer

The PreSonus StudioLive 32R exhibits exceptional performance, both as a rackmount mixer and as a stagebox for your StudioLive Series III console. It features 32 great-sounding XMAX preamps, a flexible array of I/O, and comprehensive routing, making it useful in innumerable live applications. It's equally at home in the studio, boasting built-in 40-in/40-out USB and 55-in/55-out AVB audio interfaces. Onboard stereo SD recording is also supported, making instant live recordings a breeze. Sculpt your sound to perfection, thanks to vintage-style EQ and compression on every channel, along with a range of reverbs and delays. The StudioLive 32R comes complete with wireless control via your computer or smart device.

Three options for multitrack recording

The PreSonus StudioLive 32R gives you three efficient options for multitrack recording. A built-in SD card recorder allows for easy stereo recording. You can also connect to a computer via USB for 40 channels of recording and playback. And the StudioLive 32R supports AVB over Ethernet too, allowing for 55 channels of recording and playback.

Flex Mixes offer a ton of freedom for any mixing application

At Sweetwater, we know it can be frustrating trying to use the same mixer for many different tasks. That's why we're excited about the 16 Flex Mixes offered on the PreSonus StudioLive 32R. Flex Mixes can be set up as Aux mixes, Subgroups, or Matrix mixes, depending on what your show demands. Need a ton of different monitor mixes for a large group of musicians? No problem, you can create up to 16 aux sends if you need to. Same with Subgroups and Matrix mixes — perfect for theater productions and multi-zone venues, respectively. Basically, the StudioLive 32R's Flex Mixes allow you to adapt your mixer to the mixing task at hand, instead of adapting your workflow to the limitations of your mixer.

Pristine XMAX preamps for sound reinforcement and recording

Simply put, the 32 Class A XMAX preamps onboard the StudioLive 32R sound like they belong in the studio. Their high headroom and low noise floor deliver extremely clean and clear sound you simply wouldn't expect from a live console. And mic preamp settings are fully recallable, which is a huge time saver when you mix or record the same band or show on a regular basis.

UC apps deliver full-featured remote control options

One of the major updates Series III brings to the StudioLive mixer line is powerful and flexible remote control via both wired and Wi-Fi network connections. If you're the engineer, then you'll love UC Surface, which is available for Mac, Windows, and iPad platforms. UC Surface lets you access virtually any aspect of your mix, and with support for up to four screens, you could hardly ask for more comprehensive feedback. On the other side of the stage, artists can control their own monitor mixes via the QMix-UC app. What's more, QMix-UC is available for both iOS and Android operating systems.

Advanced processing for EQ, compression, and effects

The StudioLive series of consoles has always been known for outstanding effects and processing capabilities, and the StudioLive 32R takes it even further. You get four internal effects buses that are loaded with a combination of reverbs, delays and other effects that you can route any channel through. On top of that, Fat Channel processing offers vintage EQ and compressor models on every channel.

Superb recording software package included

Your purchase includes Studio One Artist and everything you need to start recording via your computer. Plus, to take your recordings to the next level, you get the Studio Magic plug-in suite. This extensive collection of popular plug-ins includes emulations of classic studio gear from legendary manufacturers, adding hundreds of dollars in extra value. Punch up your mix bus with the Brainworx bx_opto compressor, add ambient reverb with Lexicon MPX-i Reverb, fire up transients with SPL's Attacker Plus, and much more. And since these plug-ins are available in AAX, VST, and AU formats, they're compatible with any DAW.

Amazing mixer

I do FOH work for a living. The Studiolive allows me such flexibility, especially with the fat channel. Most of my peers run Midas consoles, but if you run parallel compression this can't be beat. The 1176, LA2A, optical tube in buses gives a depth and brightness that is simply amazing. I'm able to really give a studio sound in a live atmosphere, other engineers are amazed and constantly compliment the sound. It's such an upgrade from the old RM32, the preamps being the biggest improvement. Plus I record in Presonus capture and mixdown in studio one, they make it flawless and easy!

A great studio interface

I needed more inputs that drove me from the XR-18 to the 32R PreSonus Studolive mixer / digital studio interface. I'm a drummer and sound engineer working from my basement studio. I have my band rehearsals in the same area so I needed a mixer/interface all in one. This is PRO level gear for sure! The inputs are clean and lots of headroom and all 32 inputs are XLR/1/4 inch combo inputs. The fat channels are very well laid out and easy to access in the Universal Control software. There is a mute all button on the front of the mixer and that really helps at the end of a rehearsal when everyone starts pulling plugs. This mixer has a whopping 16 AUX outs!! My only complaint is they are all 1/4 inch so I had to purchase 16 1/4 to female XLR cords but not a huge deal. If you are cool with mixing on a computer and a iPad I don't think you can beet the quality, flexibility and price of this mixer. This made me a PreSonus fan 100%

It does what it supposes to do

Great 2u rack mixer, works great with my 64s as stage box too...

Made the switch

Well it has all the functions and features as the traditional mixer, except without the faders. Our sound guy is 99.98% of the time on the Ipad anyway, so the 24x4x2ai we had was just sitting there getting hot and gathering dust. The pc/ipad interface gets you to every feature there is and is packed with more than the gen 2 ai. Being totally virtual in "standalone" will be a mental challenge not having any "hard controls".
The new features that are way cool is the ability to add "plug ins" into each channel, this really bridges the gap between live sound and daw. The over all sound quality? aside from the plugins, still great, we have been on the Studiolive versions since gen1 and now with the upgrade gen3..
the bottom line. for $1400 and a 32 channel mixer with essentially 26 different mixes on 1 scene its so powerful you cannot help but love it yet respect its power, and the price is an outright bargain.. the ability to "lock down" user profiles and scenes is fantastic..Nobody wants to come back to a rig that appears to have been adjusted by a toddler on your day off...
** note Having a touch screen pc if you are going stand alone is a great add on, not required, but nicer.
for the users of the "Dante card" I dont use it, but I believe the interface is accessible right out of the usb or Ethernet port now instead of the traditional card.

Great So.ution

This is a fantastic product. I have a few dozen synths and needed a compact solution for incorporating them into my DAW environment. I was tired of rack mixers and desktop mixers and wanted to feel like I was working in the box with external devices. I looked at other products but the closest was mega expensive summing mixers or the Behringer X32 Rack that had only XLR inputs and outputs which was not useful unless I was prepared to replace all of my cables. So the search continued until I rean into this amazing product recommended by Christian Good at Sweetwater. He nailed it! I purchased two of the units and haven't looked back since. The sound quality was better than my Scarlett 18i20 and to be honest I'm not sure how this product has escaped major attention. This is a must buy for any musician with a ton of hardware.

Sweetwater and PreSonus go way back, and that makes a lot of sense. Like Sweetwater, PreSonus is largely staffed by active musicians, songwriters, live sound techs, and engineers, and like Sweetwater, their culture shows up in everything they do. Early on, PreSonus broke ground by offering super-affordable audio interfaces that brought quality recording to home studio engineers everywhere. In the following years, we've been with them as they introduced a powerful, artist-friendly DAW, groundbreaking digital mixers, and more - all products we at Sweetwater use ourselves. One thing that's never changed, even as PreSonus has branched out into new territory, is that they've always done everything possible to provide you with the best value, and we're proud to stand by their products.
