the case is a bit bigger than i imagined but very lightweight, yet strong enough to give protection for roaf travel with other gear.. the velcro cleats keep the keyboard from sliding around inside theres enough room underneath & on the side to store all my accessories all in one. obviously this case is too large for the trunk of most cars but perfect if using an SUV or van. the lifetime warranty also gives you peace of mind should anything break (handle or wheel, etc)

Solid overall but with 1 fault

This is the second one I've bought. Have used the first for about 3 years.
Overall the case is well-constructed and very tough. And the built-in wheels make moving around heavy keyboards a breeze. The handles and lid catches fold flush flat avoiding snagging when loading, unloading, etc. which was a big problem I had with other cases.
The only flaw is with the move-able corner pieces that velcro into whatever position you need for a particular keyboard. It's a great idea but I found that the velcro is much stronger than the adhesive used to bond it to the plastic corner pieces causing the corners to come loose dropping my keyboard against whatever was the bottom edge of the case depending on whether it was on the edge or stood up on-end. I solved this by inserting a piece of high-density foam that I cut to the correct size. It was an acceptable compromise for the otherwise excellent characteristics of the case.
Admittedly my first keyboard is fairly heavy - a vintage DX-7 with all-steel construction - but since the weight of an instrument tends to go up with its value I would expect the fittings to hold better. I wasn't taking any chances with my new Prophet 6 so just added the foam to the second case before ever using it.

Though SKB claims this series of cases are not ATA spec, it actually survived a few flights and my Motif ES6 was safe and sound through the merciless baggage handlers. Major kudos to a great company and their products!

I am looking forward to the new 1R4417W roto case when it is available. This new roto case has ATA specs!

    Worth every penny!

Rugged, excellent workmanship, sturdy and easy to custom fit. I use it for my Yamaha MO6.
No dedicated inside or outside pockets for accessories.
Overall very satisfied, good investment to protect your gear on the road.
