SKB hardware case

Delivered in a few days. This case is the bomb! It's SKB so what more can you say? Great service! Great case!

Great case, but---

This is an excellent case. Heavy duty. Holds a lot of gear. The only problem is, if you fill the case, it's too heavy for one person to handle. You'll never lift it in and out of your vehicle by yourself. Stairs are nearly impossible by yourself when the case is full. The case could use another handle at the end of the case where the wheels are. I play a DW kit with 9000 series hardware. The weight of the case fully loaded is close to 200 pounds. I don't know that I would use a different case, but possibly 2 smaller cases. Great protection and the case does roll very nicely even when full.

Great gig case

The case fit all the hardware for a 5 piece kit: stands, pedals, throne, stick bag, and the rug too. Lid handles have a sharp edge which I fixed with some sandpaper. Other than that, the case is five stars. Very rugged, make sure the strap clips are fully engaged or they can pop open. There are two additional handles mounted to the main body of the case which is perfect for loading/unloading. Happy drumming.

SKB FAN....usually

I just received the SKB Large Drum Hardware Case. First impressions of the case are decent. It seems to me made well like most of the SKB cases I have owned. So far, I do have 2 issues that I'm not impressed with. First and most importantly, they did not include straps inside of this case. I believe this will cause some issues down the road with the hardware shifting around freely. I for one will not be putting my throne seat inside for fear of a puncture. I also worry about floor tom legs and hi-hat rod becoming bent over time. I upgraded from the SKB TRAP X1 just to have more room and not have to strategically stack the hardware to get it all to fit. I believe without straps, I will have to be a little more careful. The other issue is the "pull out handle". With the case full it seems a bit flimsy and is slightly uncomfortable to pull the case. I prefer the handle design on the TRAP X1. I do plan to keep the case and deal with the issues so overall, it's not that bad.
