Seymour Duncan Pickups - It's all about the tone!

Seymour Duncan's JB Jr. SJBJ-1 packages the tone of Duncan's hugely successful JB humbucker into a single-coil-sized pickup. The polepieces are adjustable, allowing it to more closely emulate the magnetic field of a full-size humbucker along with controlling the string-to-string balance. While not as hot as Duncan's Hot Rails, the high-end response has been enhanced on the JB Jr. SJBJ-1. Strat players - with no modification to the instrument - can reap the benefits of a high-output humbucker with the JB Jr. SJBJ-1.

Sound
The JB Jr. SJBJ-1 high output single-coil-size "rails" humbucker is great for everything from heavy blues to heavy metal. The twin-coil design gives you the character of our popular JB model humbucker in a single-coil size. Its adjustable pole pieces more closely emulate the magnetic field of a full size humbucker and allow you to fine tune the balance of your strings. You can expect great harmonics and a sweet high-end. Compared to Hot Rails, the output is reduced and there's more treble response, and the JB Jr. SJBJ-1 comes with four-conductor hookup cable to facilitate complex switching options. USA Patent No. Des. 355,207.

Complete setup
Available for both bridge and neck/middle positions, the JB Jr. SJBJ-1 is perfect for all well-balanced instruments. Its tonal character works equally well with maple and rosewood fingerboards.

What a difference!

Man, I bought this as an experiment, I was looking to get some more versatility out of my beloved garage-built Stratocaster and I doubt I have made a purchase with more impact on my tone (per dollar) in my entire life! This thing goes from a whisper to a ROAR, and it seems impossible to get a bad tone out of it; no matter if I am running through my little Fender practice amp or a full size Marshall at performances this thing just sings no matter how you set it up. As if that weren't already good enough, I wired it to a push-pull pot that I got off of Allparts to enable coil splitting so on top of the fantastic humbucker tones I can still keep my original Strat vibe only now with a lot more zing due to the really strong output of this pickup. No Stratocaster owner should be without one of these, give it a try you will not be disappointed!

Awesome pickup!

I recently got this baby to upgrade my American Strat stock pickups. I was never totally satisfied with the distorted sounds that the single coils give, especially since I play mostly rock, metal from the 80's. I was even considering selling my white strat to get the new HSH model and I am glad I didn't. I love Iron Maiden and that's the main reason I bought this PU, that's what Janick Gers uses and man it makes a huge difference. You get a fatter tone, with considerably more output and best of all, not hum/noise at all!! it's a very quiet pickup even under heavy distortion/FX settings. Very articulate sound, even in the lower strings. I couldnt be more satisfied now, so much that I've already ordered the JB JR Neck Pickup and the LIL 59 to complete my strat set. The cleans are also excellent, you can't go wrong with this PU !!

JB JR

I replaced the single coil bridge pickup in my MIM Strat with the JB Jr. The JB Jr is a great sounding pickup with lots of power and edge when needed. It also sounds great clean when blended with the middle pickup. I have not installed a coil split switch and may do so at a later time. I have previously installed a SD Hot Rails on another Strat and while the Hot Rails sounds great, I think the JB Jr may be more flexible. These pickup are easy to install if you have the right equipment, just be aware of the wiring differences when blending SD pickups with Fender.
