The Quest is Over

I've been filing, crosshatching, blade-tipping, cutting, punching, etc. picks for years in search of the perfect pick shape, weight, thickness and tone for years. I believe my quest is over. These picks after a little ocd mod (can't help myself) are perfect. If you like Dunlop Tortex or Gator grips then these picks should definitely be in your arsenal.

Clayton Sand Shark Picks

Best picks ever! They cost a little more; but as my granddaddy use to say,"ya git what ya'll paid for."Thank's Sweetwater.

Nice sounding, but not for me.

I have a unique situation because my right hand thumb is shorter - about 1/2" - and I can't move the joint at the end by the fingernail. Thumb got tangled in the tow rope while water skiing 15 years ago. That said, I need a pick that has a rough surface on both sides to keep the pick from rotating in my finger/thumb. I've been on an endless search for the best pick. The Clayton Sand Shark pick has a nice clear sound, & was good, but the grip was only on one side. Didn't work for me. However, I found another Clayton pick with a grip on both sides. They work great for me, and sound nice.

Not Bad

In concept the sandy grit is a great idea. In application I think it misses the mark. The pick feels wierd because there is more grip on one side of the shark than the other. The rating is two and half because that is still really good based on the decriptions given. It would get a higher rating if the grip was even across the whole surface and covered more surface area.
