I came across one of these when I was trying out a low watt amp at my local dealer. I picked this out to listen to the amp and loved the guitar instantly. Even though the action wasn't right for me I could tell it was a good player and the sound of the p90 was powerful and raw as one would expect. It has more output than my 65 firebird and sounded good both distorted and clean.
Once I brought it home and set it up it became exactly what I thought it would - an easy playing powerhouse.
Intonation was perfect and the fret work and finger board are well done.
Every now and then Gibson nails it. There is always one line that they bring out that is above their other stuff. This is one of them. As with any guitar, I may have just found a good one but it's worth checking out.
