Fantastic Value; A Sweet Guitar That Plays Like 'Buttah'
Quite honestly, I was skeptical about buying a Korean-made PRS. I gave my 20-year-old, American-made, PRS bolt-on to my grandson, thinking he'd probably tire of it and I'd get it back after a month or two. Not so. He wouldn't part with it. So now what do I do...? Well, wanting to get back to playing an electric -- I have a nice Martin acoustic collection -- I did some research and discovered that I didn't necessarily have to pay big money for a new PRS. That said, I was still a bit uncertain... So I called Sweetwater and talked with their sales and tech guys, and did some more online research.
Long story short, I ordered this model and have never looked back. Sweetwater set up the guitar with .08s at my request and right out of the box, it played wonderfully. It was even in tune! I've since changed back to the original spec .09s, which I recommend. The .08s are a little unstable and "whippy."
Honestly the guitar looks like it cost ten grand. The workmanship is flawless, and as I mentioned, the set-up was perfect. The only change I made was a little filing on the corner of the nut, which was just a tad too sharp. Again, let me compliment Sweetwater on their customer service ethic. I'm a marketing guy and work with a lot of big name clients on sales service. Sweetwater could teach them all a few lessons. These guys really care about customer satisfaction and understand that a guitar purchase is really personal.
