Fantastic Value; A Sweet Guitar That Plays Like 'Buttah'

Quite honestly, I was skeptical about buying a Korean-made PRS. I gave my 20-year-old, American-made, PRS bolt-on to my grandson, thinking he'd probably tire of it and I'd get it back after a month or two. Not so. He wouldn't part with it. So now what do I do...? Well, wanting to get back to playing an electric -- I have a nice Martin acoustic collection -- I did some research and discovered that I didn't necessarily have to pay big money for a new PRS. That said, I was still a bit uncertain... So I called Sweetwater and talked with their sales and tech guys, and did some more online research. Long story short, I ordered this model and have never looked back. Sweetwater set up the guitar with .08s at my request and right out of the box, it played wonderfully. It was even in tune! I've since changed back to the original spec .09s, which I recommend. The .08s are a little unstable and "whippy." Honestly the guitar looks like it cost ten grand. The workmanship is flawless, and as I mentioned, the set-up was perfect. The only change I made was a little filing on the corner of the nut, which was just a tad too sharp. Again, let me compliment Sweetwater on their customer service ethic. I'm a marketing guy and work with a lot of big name clients on sales service. Sweetwater could teach them all a few lessons. These guys really care about customer satisfaction and understand that a guitar purchase is really personal.

PRS SE Santana Yellow

I'm just a beginner but I sure don't feel like it when I pick this baby up. I can't believe how good it sounds and feels. I get excited every time I even think about it. This little piece of Heaven arrived a little over three months ago and I won't let anyone near it. When the driver showed up with it I was telling him about it and he even got excited and hung around until I opened the box to let him see it. He was so freaking jealous. The sound just oozes from the pick ups, I mean it's so dang smooth sounding. Don't let it fool you though play with the tone and switches then kick it to overdrive on the Amp and it's wicked. The range of sounds that even a novice like myself can get out of it is stunning, I could only imagine what a person whose been playing for years could do. The Tone and the volume knobs are incredible. I played with some other guitars and you would have to move a knob several numbers to make a difference in the sound but by the Grace of God himself this thing will change with each number until you get that sweet spot you're looking for. I do want to mention the service from Sweet water is outstanding . Lucas Anderson and Daniel Vranic are the best ! Lucas helped me out with some questions related to different gear and Daniel is on the ball all the time. At the time they had two like I wanted in stock and they sent me the exact specs down to the ounce what each weighed even. Pictures from all angles so I could choose the one I wanted. Of course they both were beautiful but I picked the one that was slightly heavier. I say that in jest as the difference in weight was less than two ounces. LOL After I picked the one I wanted they sent me pictures of it from every possible angle before they boxed it up. When I did get to hook it all up after the driver left I was stunned by how natural it felt in my hands . I say natural meaning it's weird to say but it's like it's not there but it's connected to your body say a part of you. You think and it reacts . What is so cool is the tuning was spot on when it arrived I had to do nothing but hook it up and play. Check this out now because I've never experienced this before but this baby has stayed in tune for THREE MONTHS ! I kid you not it's just like the day it arrived. I've read others comments how great this was not being the top of the line PRS but I really have to agree with everyone else about how incredible my new love is. Put it this way if I have a choice between the wife and kids or my Se Santana let's just say the grocery bill will be a lot lower that's how much I love it. Don't forget the service that Sweetwater has to, just got another call from them to make sure everything was going ok and if I needed anything and just to BS some like old friends, oh guys the little bag of candy included with the order was the cherry on top. I laughed so hard I almost cried. Great job Sweetwater and PRS. I swear if I had to work for another company these guys would be it., they care about their customers and their products. Companies just don't do that anymore except Sweetwater. Thanks, Lucas and Daniel you guys rock !

SE Santana is a true PRS

In my collection of nearly 20 guitars, most of which are multi thousand dollar USA models, this guitar is a true surprise and pleasure to play. The build quality is astounding. the fit and finish are astronomical. It was set up perfectly from the factory and plays like a dream from nut to 24 there isnt one buzzing note or fret. A great looking flame veneer over a lightly carved maple cap, with mahogany back, tried and true combination. The SE version of the Santana pickups are voiced perfectly for all types of music. Oddly enough you can make these humbuckers "quack" like a strat. Pretty cool sound machine at a fantastic price point. Thanks Sweetwater and PRS!
