An Affordable Guitar Built for a Virtuoso Player

The PRS SE Mark Tremonti Custom solidbody electric guitar offers you a great-playing, performance-driven instrument at a wonderful price. This new Tremonti adds a handful of tweaks and upgrades to bridge the gap between the SE line and Mark's core PRS model. Changes to the body and neck dimensions deliver a fatter sound and fast playability, and the updated electronics are based on some of PRS's most popular designs. The headstock has been redesigned to now sport Paul Reed Smith's signature, adding extra "cool" factor. And a figured maple veneer adds a high-class look to these guitars. The PRS SE Mark Tremonti Custom is exceptionally close to Mark's USA model at a fraction of the price.

PRS SE Mark Tremonti Custom Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:

  • Classic PRS style
Exceptional feel

The SE Mark Tremonti models have always been popular with players, especially here at Sweetwater. But the SE Tremonti Customs have additions like a thicker mahogany body with maple top to bring the guitars more in line with the USA models found slung around Mark's shoulders. A PRS tremolo is routed for trem-up performance to get the most control. And the neck now boasts PRS's popular wide-thin neck profile for comfort and speed.

Built for tone

Onboard the SE Tremonti Custom is a duet of newly designed PRS SE Tremonti humbucking pickups. An upgrade from the pickups on the originals, the SE Tremontis were carefully designed with Mark to deliver a clear and present tone that stays full and distinct with hard-driven gain. The maple top and neck also have a huge impact on the tone of the guitar. You'll find notes are more distinct, with a stronger fundamental and noticeably more sustain. And the thicker mahogany body adds a fullness in the mids and lows. This setup makes the guitar work great in any style of music.

Classic PRS style

With one look you know that this SE Tremonti Custom is a high-quality performance guitar boasting a beautiful figured maple veneer. Whether quilt or flame, the figure will be highlighted by the translucent finishes, much like the USA versions. Masked wood binding lets the maple top outline the body of the guitar. And of course the signature Paul Reed Smith birds-in-flight inlay adorns the 22-fret rosewood fretboard for that unmistakable PRS look.

PRS SE Mark Tremonti Custom Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Upgraded version of Tremonti's signature SE guitar
  • New-look headstock
  • Sonically versatile enough for any genre of playing
  • Maple top and neck provide clear resonance and sustain
  • Flame maple veneer makes this SE guitar stand out onstage
  • Wide-thin neck carve provides ultra-fast action
  • PRS tremolo bridge is trem-up routed
  • SE Tremonti pickups deliver the open, shapable tone
  • Masked wood binding separates the top from the back beautifully
The PRS SE Mark Tremonti Custom offers you a great deal on a guitar built for a master.

Great guitar / Great service

Great guitar! Looks great, plays great, sounds great! I was looking for one of these in the 8lb range. I don't know how these guys did it, but they found one and within a few days they notified me and it arrived to my home extremely fast. This is one of those guitars I will keep and enjoy playing all of my days. Great guitar! I am very grateful and more than satisfied with Sweetwater in their effort to find and put this guitar in my hand. Stephen Blaine

She just arrived...

Sweetwater got her to me 100% intact. Good job boys and girls!!! Late last week, I got what was supposed to be a brand new, mint condition guitar from another online retailer and it arrived in a thoroughly beaten up box. The lacquer on the headstock was cracked and chipping. I was very apprehensive about trusting another online shop which was much further away from my house. The Sweetwater shipping department exceeded my expectations. The pictures don't do her justice, what a beautiful guitar. I tuned up, plugged her in and checked for strange noises, buzzing, inoperative controls, etc. Everything is working and appears to be solid. I'm still checking out the Tremonti pickups. So far, I have been able to get the clear tones and crunch I need. I'm pretty sure I can get her to scream when tickled properly. So far, this far-east PRS is the complete package. Wow!!!
Music background: Long time acoustic player with an ill-behaving franken-strat.

A Thing of Beauty

I've owned or played many guitars over the years.. This Tremonti model PRS is up with the best I've ever played.. Just an awesome, beautiful guitar. The range of play and tones are incredible. I play mostly through a Blackstar all tube Cub 20 amp, sometimes through my Fender Champion with a Vox Stomplab. I would highly recommend this awesome guitar to anyone.
Music background: Many years,non-professional,,I just play because i love it

PRS Gets It Right (with some minor tweaks)

The latest PRS SE Tremonti Custom is perhaps the finest Korean-made instrument I've played (and I've owned several, including a PRS SE Singlecut). Of course, everyone is raving about the headstock update (which really does help the overall aesthetic of the guitar), but I'm most impressed with the pickups in this new model. Not so keen on the Alpha volume/tone pots or the minuscule ceramic caps used, so those have been replaced with CTS short-shaft 525k (5% tolerance) pots and Russian-made K40Y .022/400 (bridge) and .015/400 (neck) capacitors ... This is a moderately low cost improvement to make on any two-humbucker/four-pot instrument that comes stock with inferior electronics, in my experience. Back to the pickups ... The clean tone coming from these redesigned Tremonti pickups is simply unique to my ears. Not exactly certain what PRS has done here, but the clean sound is remarkable, particularly in the middle position where there is a great deal of tonal variability and control. When cranked into a dirty or lead sound, these pups really shine with plenty of harmonic overtones and sustain while remaining defined—rare to find in my experience. They clean up nicely when pulling the volume down, as well. For comparison purposes, I’m fortunate to have plenty of other guitars with a broad spectrum of pickups including Gibson stock 57s, SD 59s, Rio Grande Texas/BBQ, SD Signature Joe Bonamassa 59s, Duesenberg Cat-6, etc.), and these Tremonti pickups hold their own against all of these options. I really like the feel of this instrument—a thicker beefy body, without being a 10-pound beast; superb neck-feel (maple used here was a wise choice). The well-machined tremolo is solid, but easy to adjust (I changed string gauge to 10s); it works great. Other notable aesthetics include a beautiful Vintage Sunburst maple veneer top and the meticulously finished fretboard. I did need to adjust the neck relief, which is common for recently shipped instruments. The adjustment was easy and effective. The overall fit and finish is flawless. Overall, this guitar is well worth the money (actually, given the price point, it’s worth more than the asking $$$ in my opinion). NOTE: I purchased a PRS vintage-style case for this guitar, which PRS states is a good fit with the SE Tremonti. The lower bout of the body sits well in the case cavity, but it sits too low. This does not allow the neck to sit properly in the neck support, so the case lid does not close all the way. The only way to correct this is to add a soft folded cloth under the body bout so the neck fits firmly into the neck rest. So, unless you want to make modifications to the case or use approach I’ve used, you may want to consider other case options.
