Classic Seymour Duncan humbuckers deliver iconic rock tone

You'll rarely come across a more broadly liked combination of pickups than the duo loaded into this Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH HT guitar. In fact, at Sweetwater, sticking a Seymour Duncan JB model at the bridge and one of their '59 humbuckers at the neck is a pretty popular mod. Why? Because these pickups come together to give you a wide range of amazing tone. When you rock a Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH HT guitar, you'll get the toothy grit you need for riffing plus the fat and smooth lead tones you love.

Charvel 6-saddle adjustable hardtail lets you tweak your action

Charvel's Pro-Mod series guitars rock with the classic Charvel style, which was born in Southern California more than three decades ago. One popular mod included a highly stable hardtail bridge with six independently adjustable saddles. This makes it easy to tweak your action whether you're rocking standard E-to-E, drop D, DADGAD, or anything else you like. What's more, the sustain you'll get thanks to the direct connection with the Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH HT's alder body is amazing.

Fast, stable, and comfortable neck provides epic playability

Complementing the sonic spank of a 2-piece maple neck with the unshakable support of graphite reinforcement rods, the Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH HT offers traditional Charvel sound with extreme stability. If your idea of playing out involves cross-country road trips or air travel, then this guitar may be your new best friend. The Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH HT also offers the extraordinary playability of a compound-radius fretboard, which flattens out from 12" at the nut to 16" at the 12th fret. That makes it ideal for chording and solo runs. Top it off with a hand-rubbed urethane finish and rolled fingerboard edges, and you've got a guitar that's a pure pleasure to play.

Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH HT at a Features:
  • An amazing axe that gives you hot-rodded Fender style, Charvel feel, and classic-rock-style humbucker tone
  • Combination of Seymour Duncan JB and '59 humbuckers delivers tried-and-true rock sound

Awesome Tone, Great Feel

I'm a huge strat fan but wanted to get a new guitar with humbuckers. I tried several Epiphone LPs and even telecasters with humbuckers and none felt right. I was looking at the new strats with multi-radiused necks and humbuckers online and they were all over $1000. I came across this Charvel and it was a hardtail to boot (I always wanted a hardtail strat since playing my brothers 1974 hardtail strat). I've had it found over six months now and I still love this guitar. I can't say enough about the playability with the satin finished multiradius neck. I absolutely love this guitar and would buy it again. I highly recommend it.

Not bad at all

I was retiring my "#2" guitar (MIM Strat) due to just not liking the 9.5" radius... Looked at many different guitars as this was going to be a backup to "#1" (Les Paul) and decided on the Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1. VERY comfortable guitar to play - I like the compound radius neck. I had sanded the finish off the neck of my strat for a smoother play and I do have to say the satin finish on the Charvel feels almost the same. I'm not overwhelmed with the Duncan pickups though... the JB isn't bad, but to me it sounds "thin" compared to the DiMarzio's I have in all my other guitars. The 59 at the neck definitely will be replaced - just doesn't do it for me. Also not sold on the switching/coil tap setup, but still playing around with that. I might end up wiring with regular LP type switching as I really don't get into the coil tap stuff. The Sweetwater set-up was a nice touch, but I'm funny about how my guitars are set up so I ended up doing it over the way I like it, but that's no big deal. Thanks Randy and Sweetwater!
Music background: Been gigging for years....

Sweetwater Advice

This Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH is my got-to "Super Strat." Its humbuckers and switching capabilities provide me with a well-stocked arsenal of tones. I also love how fast and comfortably the neck plays, which makes it more than my "Swiss army knife" guitar.
