Ideal Drums for Any Kind of Rock!

Note: This expansion pack requires Superior Drummer 2 software.

Ask anyone at Sweetwater and they'll tell you that the right drums can make or break any rock tune. The Rock Warehouse SDX expansion for Toontrack's Superior Drummer is your ticket to achieving the driving drums your next project demands. Whether you're programming drums by hand, playing them via an electronic kit, or simply looking for a quick drag-and-drop solution to spice up your music, you'll get what you need in The Rock Warehouse SDX. This SDX expansion includes three top-of-the line kits that feature classic Gretsch shells, an Ayotte Custom set, and the massive sound of Dunnett Titanium drums - all tracked at Bryan Adams's world-famous The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver and engineered by Randy Staub. The result is nothing short of breathtaking.

Toontrack The Rock Warehouse SDX Expansion for Superior Drummer at a Glance:
  • All the right drum sounds for any flavor or style of rock
  • Performed and produced by two modern rock masters
  • Recorded in one of the world's top studios with the finest gear
All the right drum sounds for any flavor or style of rock

The Rock Warehouse SDX gives you access to some of the coolest and most obscure drum sounds we've ever come across. For starters, there's a complete Gretsch USA Custom kit whose warm and round sound practically defines the tone of rock drums. Broadening that range are two unique collections of drums. Made in a small shop down the road from The Warehouse Studio where this SDX pack was recorded, the included Ayotte Custom kit offers you a darker and more aggressive sound with a delightfully modern edge. Dunnett Titanium drums, on the other hand, give The Rock Warehouse SDX some extra snap and spank. Top it off with three additional snare drums (including a 2002 Jeff Ocheltree model made from melted down Paiste cymbals) and a whole collection of cymbals and some essential percussion instruments, and you'll find the right sounds for any kind of tune.

Performed and produced by two modern rock masters

If you love rock and metal, then Randy Staub is a name you very well might recognize. With mixing credits of Metallica's "Black Album", Avril Lavigne's "Under My Skin", and Nickelback's "Silver Side Up", just to name a few of his 300-some productions, this engineering guru has set the pace for modern rock in many important ways. Speaking of Nickelback, Toontrack's The Rock Warehouse SDX features the drum stylings of none other than ex-Nickelback drummer Ryan Vikedal, whose drumming makes the included MIDI library an authoritative collection of rock grooves and riffs if there ever was one.

Recorded in one of the world's top studios with the finest gear

Located in Vancouver's Gastown, Studio 2 in Bryan Adams's The Warehouse Studio was the perfect setting to track The Rock Warehouse SDX. A cavernous 32' x 58' live room with a 26'-high ceiling makes provides all the ambient sound and spacial dimension you could ask for. At the same time, Staub placed the drums in one of the studio's larger iso rooms (with the doors open), so that the close mics would be nice and dry, providing you with total control over your ambience. Like all Toontrack drum expansions, The Rock Warehouse SDX was recorded with top-shelf mics, but these sounds feature the added bonus of being tracked through one of the three existing Neve A6630 consoles built specifically for Sir George Martin at AIR Studios back in 1979. Suffice it to say, you'll be hard press to find better drum sounds anywhere.

Toontrack The Rock Warehouse SDX Expansion for Superior Drummer Features:
  • An amazing collection of drum sounds and MIDI performances for Toontrack Superior Drummer 2
  • Engineered by Randy Staub, whose extensive recording and mixing credits include Metallica, Nickelback, Motley Crue, and many others
  • Recorded at The Warehouse Studio through a rare Neve A6630 console originally built by Rupert Neve exclusively for Sir George Martin at AIR Studios
  • Three complete kits include Gretsch, Ayotte, and Dunnett drums as well as three additional snare drums for added variety
  • Three cymbal sets included, as well as tambourine and cowbell
  • Extensive rock oriented MIDI library performed by Ryan Vikedal (formerly of Nickelback)
