Easy on fingers, brings up tone

Gave my J-45 a bit more brightness, less sustain. I prefer them to bring up the deeper tone of my slope-shoulder. A lot easier on my fingers then normal strings . Not a huge difference tone wise, but for $8 I'd recommend trying them out.

Masterbuilt Premium 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar String

Really do I write reviews on anything after all what do I know? when I purchased my Gibson songwriter deluxe 2016 from Sweet-water two years ago -I liked the way it felt and played and sounded I did my research and homework. But the guitar still needed a better set up. It came with an extra set of strings the ones listed in this review. About 3 days after I purchased my guitar , I took it to my guitar tech for a better set up and never strings I had no idea how old the strings were on the guitar. He suggested to me that I should try these Martin strings that he likes very much after all he is a luthier great guitar tech and knows a lot about guitars Waymore than I do. After I got my guitar back, I notice a change in tone volume , Playability and compression. Whatever martin strings were Instslled i did not like them on the Gibson songwriter. It was hard to bend a string it was hard to play with volume / dynamics. So I took them off within a few weeks . I Replaced with the set of strings that came with the guitar. These are by far the best strings for this guitar without experimenting and spending a lot of money and a lot of aggravation for the quest of the perfect guitar string. These are the ones for this guitar they feel great they sound great , theyre dynamic and I can play my guitar for a long time. until my songwriter ages to the point where I have that classic vintage tone and playability I'm gonna stick with these. They are a very great product .

Stock J-45 strings.

Masterbuilt 80/20 Lights are the stock/OEM strings that Gibson puts on every J-45 series and Hummingbird at the factory in Bozeman, Montana. When you purchase a new J-45, J-15, etc.. you get an extra set of these and Gibson custom service confirmed these have been the OEM strings for many years now. If you've purchased a Gibson Dreadnought used and you're trying to find strings to give you that tone and feel of what the new showroom models have, these are the strings you're looking for. That said, D'Addario produces the same product at a cheaper price. Search this site for D'Addario EJ11 80/20. I also recommend trying Elixir 80/20 Lights as all three of the string products listed have the exact same measurements/weights. Avoid using Light gauge Martin strings on a Gibson. They are weighted differently
