Seagull's quest for tone gives you a better playing and sounding guitar

Robert Godin, owner of Seagull Guitars, has never been satisfied with good enough. His tireless search for the better guitar has created quite a few innovations that go into every guitar model that Seagull makes. Every S6 Classic acoustic-electric guitar's top is pressure-tested for rigidity and stiffness to ensure maximum harmonic vibration. The unique compound-curved top adds structural integrity to the guitar and allows for thinner bracing. Take it from the Sweetwater crew - the Seagull S6 Classic will give you years of great performance.

Innovative neck construction and mounting delivers killer playability and tone

The attention and care given to each Seagull shows in their looks, playability, and tone. Seagull has also taken extra care to ensure that the S6 Classic acoustic-electric's neck helps create an amazing guitar experience. An acoustic guitar's neck is more than just a fretboard used for playing, it also creates the guitar's tone. Seagull's Integrated Set Neck gives your guitar the sound you want and the stability you need in a performing guitar. This system provides stable and consistent action that also reduces warping and twisting. Thanks to this integrated system, the S6 Classic's neck pitch is perfectly set. If it's too far forward the instrument will sound muddy, or if it's too far back the guitar will sound tinny. Seagull's design assures optimized sound and playability with these and other innovations found in the entire Seagull line.

Handcrafted in Canada for more than a quarter of a century

For over 25 years, Seagull guitars have been handcrafted in the small village of La Patrie in eastern Quebec. About half of the population works creating these exquisite guitars. All of the guitars in the Seagull line are made in Canada from the S6 Original models to the Maritime models to the top-of-the-line Artist-series guitar. Most of the tonewoods are also harvested from Canadian forests. You'll love the attention to detail, the quality tonewoods, and Seagull's commitment to make the best guitar possible. Grab a Seagull S6 Classic acoustic-electric guitar and experience the difference!

Seagull S6 Classic Natural

This is an awesome guitar. The setup, and the action, are very good. The intonation and action are great, very forgiving making it easier to learn the fret board ( learning notes, cords, scales, stuming, and learning to read music again are a lot of fun.) The tone has rich full bodied lows and highs. It stays pretty much in tune. The tuner is a great feature. I found it works as a usefull tool to learn notes on the fret board also. ( I know that this is not what its meant for, but sometimes it helps. ) I have not pluged into an amp yet. I have faith that the electronics will be great sounding also. The natural finish exposing the beautiful wood grains of wild cherry sides and back are gorgeous, along with the spurce top and maple neck, with rosewood fret board and the fit and finish are all exceptional quality. Thanks Drew for wrapping up sales end. Thanks Nick for returning my many phone calls and answering my many questions. My only complant is that the free ground shipping, took a whole 7 days to arrive here. Other than that the guitar arrived in excellent condition

What a great guitar

I'd been researching and looking at guitars for a few months, and was considering a different guitar. But then I was reading the reviews on Seagulls, nothing but positives. i'm just learning and I wanted something that would last longer than the beginner phase, so I chose the Seagull. I also have to say the service is great, Sweetwater is a top-notch outfit to purchase from.

Fantastic deal for fantastic products!

Received my Seagull S6. Classic with Godin TRIC guitar case within 2 days of ordering them. Most sincere thanks to Nick Huskins at Sweetwater for great customer support and providing the best deal in the business. I would not hesitate to order again and I am truly a satisfied customer..! Keep up the good work..!

How in the world??

How in the world does Seagull make this guitar and sell it for $399? I played literally 40-50 acoustic guitars at 3 local stores (including Guitar Center) and this was the one I brought home. I wanted something for less than $600 with electronics. I also wanted something made in North America if possible. However, I looked at guitars from all different countries of origin. This guitar just did it for me. Seagull (Godin) is making unbelievable guitars. I encourage you to take a hard look at any of the Godin family of instruments before purchasing any guitar built overseas.

Extremely Pleased

It's been several years since I've "made" the time to play guitar. I have a really nice Martin, but my son began using it during high school and then college to lead in Praise teams and bands during worship services in churches, BSU and events. As a Pastor, it was great to see my son using his talents to serve a higher purpose and gratifying to see the Martin in good use because I surely wasn't playing it any longer. I was sort of stuck with an old Hohner I bought in 1979 and a Seagull 12-string that was my sons before he took over the Martin. Neither had any electronics. The Hohner still sounds pretty good, but it's one of the hardest guitars to play that I've ever picked up. Recently I have dealt with some health issues with Epstein Barr virus and resulting and lingering health troubles. I've been forced to take a sabbatical and playing guitar has resurfaced as an old friend of great comfort. I played the Hohner long enough to get my fingers conditioned and then ordered this Seagull, primarily because of the price. I could not be more pleased. The playability is great - comparable to the Martin ... seriously! The sound is crisp and the electronics were a bonus - they provide a great presence; not just mid-range, and yet not muddy nor "twangy." I've only had it a couple of days, but for the price - I don't think I could be any more satisfied, maybe for even twice the price. Also, this is my first guitar to ever buy without physically playing. I didn't think I would ever do this, but with my energy levels suffering, on-line order became a viable solution. Wow! What a great experience from ordering it, to actually holding it in my hands. Sweetwater is top shelf in their customer service. I got a couple of courtesy calls. What if I had order a guitar in the price range comparable to my old Martin? I guess they would have hand-delivered it? They were great. (BTW - I haven't had a Bit-O-Honey in years). The packing was extremely secure and to my amazement, the guitar was in perfect tune out-of-the-box. I can't say enough positive about my experience... and no I'm not just saying this because anybody from Sweetwater goes to my church either! :) To quote a reference from the NT, "I was a stranger and you took me in." It's "refreshing" to see a company live up to it's name! :)
