  • Rich tone from a pair of humbucking pickups

Based on a classic 1970s Guild solidbody

The S-100 Polara is based on the Guild S-100 guitar from the '70s. Boasting a body made of mahogany with a sleek offset design, and combined with a special pair of humbucking pickups, the S-100 Polara is primed for classic hard rock.

Rich tone from a pair of humbucking pickups

Armed with a pair of HB-1 humbucking pickups, when you plug in your Guild S-100 Polara you will be rewarded with a wide range of classic tones. As music was evolving into harder and heavier sounds, Guild released these higher-output pickups to ensure players could get the most out of their S-100. Famously used by Kim Thayil of Soundgarden, the HB1 humbucker pickups are quite capable of everything from articulate cleans to down-tuned riffing. And the S-100 Polara is sonically flexible, thanks to individual volume and tone controls for each pickup.

High-quality appointments for great performance

On top of great looks and tone, the Guild S-100 Polara sports high-quality features for years of reliable performance. Like the binding on the rosewood fretboard, which looks great but also adds an ultra-smooth playing feel. And Grover Sta-Tite die-cast tuners offer exceptional tuning stability and precision.

Guild S-100 Polara Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Vintage-voiced solidbody electric guitar
  • 2 HB-1 pickups serve up vintage tone without the vintage noise
  • Sleek double-cutaway design gives you unhindered access to the entire fretboard
  • Grover Sta-Tite tuners give you excellent tuning stability
Take a trip back to '70s with the Guild S-100 Polara!

Great

I had one of the originals back in the 70's and I had to sell it when my car engine died. I just bought one of the new ones and I love it. I think it's even better than the original

Can already tell its "The One"!

This guitar is awesome. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. When my new cherry red Polara first arrived, I just stood it up in the case and stared at it for minutes at a time like a mental patient. Really beautiful instrument. Tortured myself for weeks, trying to decide on the red, black, or white, but I think I made the right choice with the cherry red. When I plugged this thing in and started playing it, only got better. Nice, warm, snarly buzzsaw tone from those humbuckers that compliments the rock guitarist. Lightning fast action. Have played it for an hour or two every day since it arrived. My other two electrics have been at least temporarily forgotten. Every time I show the Polara to anyone, I just get a "Wow!". Got the band together last weekend and played at my house and the Polara just killed it. A guitar like this just inspires you to play more. Love it! Sweetwater was out of stock when I ordered it, but came up with one and had it delivered within about five days. Everything was set up beautifully and customer service rep called and emailed me regularly to make sure everything was all good. It was.

my polara s 100

I received my new Guild Polara S100 yesturday and I have to say I am very pleased. This guitar exceeded my expectations. The sound and looks are great. I couldn't believe the sustain. WOW!!!! The reason I selected this guitar is that I have arthritis in my hands and am finding it more and more difficult to reach some of the chords. Subsequently, I have been playing a lot of slide. I only had to raise the action a little bit and this guitar gave me the sound I was looking for to play rock and blues. The customer service at Sweetwater is terrific. They kept me informed as to when the guitar would be in stock, delivered it when they said they would and kept in contact before, during and after delivery. It is as pleasure doing business them.
