Skeptics will avoid, buyers' mixes will soar
I'm a huge fan of acoustics guru Ethan Winer and studio designer Wes Lachot. So, my mix room has plenty of bass trapping and diffusion. It's a great room but had dips and peaks in the room modes just like any other room. I use the Focal Twin6be as my main monitors coupled with a KRK 12s Sub. For checking levels, I use the Yamaha HS50m and Avantone Mixcubes.
I had used ARC by Multimedia and had mixed opinions. I was naturally skeptical of these software solutions because of the arguments that problems In your mix room acoustics don't just exist in the EQ of the room but also the phase alignment of different frequencies in your room. This software takes all of that into account. If you have a pretty well treated room, I think it'll be the difference maker for you. Heck, even if it's not treated well at all, it'll help until you can get some real bass traps and diffusion built.
You can toggle to different simulations like NS10 and others. I usually just toggle between flat and bass up 6db. I made a measurement with my sub in and off. And also made a measurement for my Yamahas. This software is amazing.
The measurement phase is fool proof. Don't wait, just buy it. I'm sending mixes off without having to do the car test any longer. Worth the price!
