The Renown RN2 sees a return to classic Gretsch 302 hoops - the same ones found on the Brooklyn kits today. At 3mm thick, the 302s are every bit as thick as the former die-cast hoops. Only they're less rigid for better flex, which offers more of that classic Gretsch open-y goodness. Modern 302s are rounded over, too, so they're easier on sticks than legacy 302s.
