Fantastic Headphones for Vdrummers

I've had Roland drums for over 5 years now and have never been satisfied with any of the phones I've used ... that is until now. Clearly designed to bring out the best quality in the sounds that the Roland drum modules produce (I use an older TD12 and the TD30), these things are amazing. One of the biggest areas where they really capture the tones are in the lower register - the bass drums sounds incredible through these. But really all of the cymbal sounds are crisp and there is no distortion at higher volume. They aren't the best phones I've used for sound isolation (this is pretty important because the VH-13 hi-hat is pretty noisy) but they do a much better job than I would have thought - the over ear design has a nice seal. Another plus is that if I plug these into the amp phone jacks I don't have to adjust the volume from the setting I use for the loudspeaker. Not only do they sound great, but they look and feel great as well, and they are solidly constructed with a lot of flexibility. My understanding is that this is a redesign of the older RH-300 which wasn't specifically designed for Vdrums but for Roland electronic gear in general. The longer cord length is a plus and with padding on the top of the headrest these are comfortable for a very long time while maintaining a nice snug fit - these never feel like they are sliding off. I like how the 1/8 to 1/4 plug adapter actually screws in which is a nice touch to prevent the "loosening" that sometimes occurs with regular adapters that just plug in. It took them awhile to deliver a headphone that Roland drummers can finally get excited about but Roland finally got this right. Now, if we can just get them to build a powered PA/drum monitor that can deliver the kind of sounds like I am hearing from these phones! In summary, these are great ...pricey but non unreasonable given that they sound way better than the Bose Noise Isolation phones that sell for $300.00.
