The Ultimate in the Ultimate Metal Guitars!
There have been a lot of changes in music over the last 50 years. There are more new guitar and bass guitar styles than ever before. And while most people resist change, Ibanez is all about change. Ibanez and Ibanez players look forward and take risks. But that's not the only thing that made Ibanez famous: They're also known for great sounding, high quality, easy playing, and affordable instruments for everyone from the beginner to the working pro. And speaking of the working pro, when it comes to metal guitars, the RG is in class by itself. And at the head of the class is the RG Prestige, crafted by Ibanez's most experienced luthiers using the finest materials and electronics available. The Ibanez RGA series, which includes the RGA121, features the thin, flat, and fast Prestige Wizard necks, DiMarzio pickups, and the massive new Gibraltar Plus fixed bridge. The brilliant highs and looks of the RGA's arched 16mm maple top ensure that you'll be seen and heard no matter what.Ibanez RGA121 at a Glance:

Mahogany Body and Maple Top
Mahogany is revered for its sweet sustain, smoldering tone, and an acoustical range that extends all the way from deep octaves to a singing upper register, which supports the 24 fret extended range of the RG as well as the extended register of 7-string versions. Mahogany is also valued for its color, grain, stability and high-strength/low weight ratio. A real plus when you have to stand up and play for hours at a time. The brilliant highs and look of the 16mm maple top guarantee that you are seen and heard in the back rows as well as the front.
24 Jumbo frets and Rosewood Finger Board
The RGA121's jumbo frets offer easy playing for leads and chording, while Rosewood offers a strong, bright sound and an attractive appearance with a long grain. And of course, if you're into playing in the upper register of the guitar, (which we all are) 24 frets give you that extended range.
DiMarzio IBZ Pickups
The Ibanez RGA121 features IBZ pickups made by DiMarzio in the United States exclusively for Ibanez guitars. Harmonically alive with medium high output, DiMarzio IBZ's were made specifically for hard and heavy rock guitar styles. The tone of the IBZ V7 neck pickup is warm, smooth, and perfect for shred, while the V8 bridge pickup will cut through the room and come back at you with a vengeance. The RGA121 definitely shreds and crunches...but roll the volume back a little, kick in the neck pickup and you'll get as smooth and warm a rhythm sound as any vintage humbucker.
Wizard Prestige neck and Gibraltar Plus Bridge
Ibanez RGA121's Wizard Prestige neck features extra steps of finishing to give the comfortable feel of necks broken and rounded by years of dedicated playing. Comfortably rounded RG Prestige necks feature strong three-piece maple construction with a walnut stripe for even more strength. When it comes to choosing a bridge for the RGA121, well you don't put just any fixed bridge on an instrument in the class of the RGA - a massive metal sound requires a massive metal bridge. The Gibraltar Plus combines the smooth surfaced Gibraltar III Bridge with the Quick Change tailpiece-in one unit. Allows a wide range of intonation adjustment needed for heavy gauge strings and the saddles can't fall out during string changes.
