    RG927 Premium

This line of guitar was a Euro market limited run. I like the buckeye burl finish it is unique. what makes it really stand out is the total exposed wood grain through out the guitar. The craftmanship is amazing and it is a standard you can trust from Ibanez. The pick ups are DiMarzio and provide great tone, and paired with the Edge Zero floating trem system you can unleash it on any musical style you wish. When played throught the distortion channel of the amp. Turning down the volume knob cleans up the notes and it shows how good the eletronics are on the instrument, giving you total control of your playabity.

Good guitar with unique look and tone

Obviously, the look of this guitar sets it apart from its peers. It looks great, plays well, and the craftsmanship is good (but not flawless). It's *loud* (I don't mean that the pickups are very high output, just that the instrument itself is relatively loud when not plugged in). IMO, the tone also sets it apart, at least from other Ibanezes. It's fairly big on the bottom, and has a low-to-mid range warmth or growl that gives it a lot of character. Oddly, I found the bottom strings to be very clear/defined, while closer to the mid-range the tone was, well, I wouldn't go so far as to say "muddy" but maybe a little less crisp (I can imagine somebody who liked the sound describing it as "warm" instead). It's a sound that some players will likely prefer, but in the end it wasn't for me, and I ended up trading it in for a significantly more expensive guitar that was a better fit. If I had kept it I likely would have swapped out the pickups for something higher output and with more high-end clarity. Overall I'd say that this guitar is a good bang for your buck, and may well be a great fit for somebody who prefers a little more growl and warmth in their tone.
