Great tone feel

I prefer heavier gauge and nickel wound strings. If you like nickel wound strings try these. GHS also makes a Burnished Nickel string that is very nice, especially for blues. The slightly flat wind on these strings gives a nice feel and must be part of the sound. I have been using these strings almost exclusively for 3 years on my custom shop strat. Have tried others, but always go back to these. Sound great and stay in tune. Been playing guitar for more than 40 years, blues, rock, and some country. I do a lot of string bending, some whammy bar. Have never broken a string when playing, even with serious bends. The few times I have broken strings is during restringing - user error with the locking tuners.

Fantastic sound, my new favorite string set!

These strings are the perfect set if you want something a little heavier than usual string sets. I was using Ernie Ball Beefy Slinky strings, which are similar gauge (.011-.054), but some strings, especially the G, felt just a little too thick for standard tuning. They were still very good strings, but the EJ Nickel Rockers are just the right gauge -- not too heavy, not too light. The Nickel Rockers are not as bright as GHS Boomers, but they do have a nice top end that is also just right. One other great thing about the set, especially the wound strings, is that they can handle a strong pick attack very well. Overall, I highly recommend these strings to anyone who prefers a heavier string gauge. If it has Eric Johnson's name on it, you know that it has to be good!
