    Great mic, great sound

My band has been using the EV RE510 for quite a while. We have a few times tried to move to another mic but we always come back to this one. It sounds very full and warm and we use a Bose L1 Model 2 system without any feedback. If we need more volume and we get some feedback it's easy to eq out. We bought some Shure Beta 87A's and right away noticed had to push the mixer for more volume and had feedback problems had trouble eq'ing the feedback out. Not trying to bash Shure it's a good company that's been making good stuff for along time just telling you what we experienced in our situation. We get compliments about the sound quite a bit, so go ahead and take a chance on this little known jewel of mic. No I don't work for EV I just play in a gospel music band from Indiana.

    My goodness !!!!

After been blown away by the 410 , I thought I'd by the 510.
    Boy I'm glad a did.
I find for my voice its much better when you use the bass roll off switch.
It has great detail and a lovely warm tone right accros the frequncy spectrum. The output is hot too .
The more I use this mic the more I really enjoy singing aslo after hearing that the excellent singer/songwriter Keri Noble uses the 510 when she tours. I can see why.

    Love Electro Voice!

This microphone is, in a word: outstanding. It has a presence that cuts through the mix for vocals, yet is overall fairly flat with a knack for capturing the highs of a female jazz vocalist, or the "umph" of a male vocalist. The off-axis rejection is also incredible for live performance! I actually straddled it between my voice and acoustic guitar for a rough pre-production demo to send to a friend who works as a professional producer and engineer. He was blown away with the quality! Can't beat it for $200... seriously. (I found the 510 to be much better with feedback rejection for live performance, so if you like the gain pretty high, I'd definitely go with the 510. If you're looking for even MORE detail on a softer gain, go with the 410.)
