A Cool Retro-style Strummer!

Washburn's R314K parlor-sized acoustic guitar is the perfect answer for anyone looking for a great couch strummer or campfire companion. This small and comfortable instrument sounds impressively loud with a rich and warm voice that's perfect for accompaniment. The R314K gets its smooth and mellow voice from the combination of a spruce top with trembesi back and sides, which sounds a lot like mahogany but looks gorgeous. Top it off with a full set of Vintage Series hardware, and you just can't knock the look, sound, or feel of Washburn's R314K acoustic guitar.

Washburn R314K Acoustic Guitar at a Glance:

Spruce topped trembesi provides a rich and mellow tonal palette

To give their R314K acoustic guitar an elegant look and a smooth tone, Washburn selected the combination of a back and sides made from trembesi (known in the U.S. as monkey pod or rain tree) and a top made of spruce. On the whole, trembesi has a warm and slightly dark tone that's reminiscent of mahogany or korina but looks much prettier. With a spruce top to balance out the sound, the R314K offers up a rich baritone timbre that makes it ideal for singer/songwriters.

Vintage Series guitars deliver period-correct vibe with modern performance

When a company like Washburn (that's been making instruments for over 130 years) decides to make a vintage-style guitar, you can be sure they know what they're doing. Like the rest of the Vintage Series, this R314K closely resembles one of the handcrafted guitars from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century, one that's been well loved and never abused. It's apparent in the R314K's vintage finish and artfully distressed hardware. But, like all Washburn guitars, this instrument has been made using top-of-the-line modern techniques, offering sound and performance that's better than ever.

Washburn has been producing quality fretted instruments since 1883

With humble beginnings in Chicago that date back to the 1880s, Washburn is an American institution in musical instrument manufacturing. From guitars to mandolins, banjos, ukuleles, and more, Washburn has long been a recognized and cherished brand among musicians. Many of the biggest names in folk, blues, and rock 'n' roll have played these well-crafted, quality instruments. Washburn combines quality construction with premium materials to deliver instruments, such as the R314K, that are ready to perform on any stage. Washburn r314k

Great little guitar esp for the price. I put a Dean Markley sound-hole pickup in it and play it out a few times a week. Sounds very mellow, which I prefer, and great for finger picking. Not a giant sound for strumming, but thats not what the design was really for in my opinion. It took about a day or two to get used to the pretty sharp V in the neck, but its really easy to play. The case looks cool but is pretty cheap. I placed the order Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon it was here. Setup was spot on right out of the box which is highly unexpected. Couldnt have found a better deal for the price.

Compact throw back bargain

Love it's strong mid tone and I love the wide V neck. I'm a big fan of 12 fret and other parlor style instruments with a slot head and for the price this is an exceptional deal. With the small and included compact case I have gotten away with it as carry on although on really full flights they may make you check it.One thing the bridge florets I'll call them are incredibly sharp on the edges and I rounded them off with sandpaper - they were like knife blades!
