Suited for guitar or bass

The envelope filter effect has just as much vibe when used on rhythm guitar as it does on bass. Thankfully, Electro-Harmonix made the Q-Tron for both! It's perfect for funky bass grooves, wild rhythm guitar effects, or even for adding extra impact to a solo without having to work a wah pedal. No matter what instrument you choose, the Q-Tron's flexible control set makes it easy to dial in a great sound.

Flexible range switch

The Q-Tron's range switch lets you focus the effect on either high or low frequencies. On low frequencies, the Q-Tron emphasizes vowel-like sounds close to the fundamental notes you're playing. On high frequencies, Q-Tron focuses on the overtones of your signal, for a bright sound that cuts through the mix.

Dependable ehx quality

Over the years, Electro-Harmonix has created some of the most beloved - and longest lasting - effects pedals for guitar and bass. The Q-Tron's all-metal construction can take the abuse of any long road tour. And no matter how brutal you are on your pedals, the Q-Tron's robust switches and knobs make sure you always get dependable performance from the Q-Tron.

Electro-Harmonix Q-Tron Envelope Filter Pedal Features:
  • Envelope filter effects pedal for guitar and bass
  • Switchable boost control adds gain to your signal before it hits the filter stage for a bigger sound
  • Selectable up/down filter sweep direction gives you access to two distinct effects

Black Ark

I got this to replicate the envelope filter that was part of Lee Perry's custom MuTron bi-phase channel. Paired with a good phaser, the QTron easily replicates classic Black Ark sounds found in albums by The Heptones (Party Time) or Junior Murvin (Police & Thieves). It has some extremely funky tones and sounds incredible on recordings. Would be a great pedal for Parliamentary Funkadelic style rhythm or bass guitar.

Pretty Sweet Pedal

note: Im not that good of a guitarist. The Q Tron is a fun little stomp pedal. It creates some sweet auto-wah sounds, very funky at times, and if used slightly could really enhance the blues, or even some rock! I wont waste time explaining the features because you can read them on the product page. The multiple settings allow for some cool sounds, just becareful, because of the way filter sweeps work, if you have it on certain settings, it will peak out your nice device in the chain pretty quickly. That said, its durable, looks cool and is not noisy at all, its a pretty clean pedal. My only gripe was the price to performance ratio, however Im not really a guitarist so real guitarists might find this much more worth the money. Hence why I only took off one star, because its still an awesome sounding device. I also converted my Mic signal into TS inst-out and sent vocals through the q-tron. With the right settings you can get some super sweet funky, out-there vocal sounds.
