Great Rock n' Roll Speakers

In some circles Peavey has a bad name, but this is because they make affordable gear that takes a beating and continues to work, so there are artists who have gear from the '70s that still puts out the dB to this day and it can't compare to today's standards. That being said, a properly powered and processed (as EVERY PA should be) Peavey QW rig will surpass ANY loudspeaker system in it's price range. I own 2 QW2F's paired with 2 QW218's all driven by Crest CC and Peavey CS amps and processed by a Peavey VSX 26 DSP. When this rig is properly powered and the room is flattened with EQ, this rig will belt some seriously smooth rock and roll tones. The subs go deep and the tops have an aggressive but articulate tone. I plan to double my rig in the future so that I can handle outdoor crowds of 800-1000. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and encourage you to put your ears on this system for yourself.

AFTER 3 YRS OF USE

My setup is a pair of QW2's sitting on top of a pair of QW218subs. Just guessing, but I'm sure ive used these speakers for around 80 shows since May 2014. so ive got the pro's and cons figured out now. -------------starting with the pros------- 1- these speakers are powerful!!!! 2- the remain clear at very high volumes 3- the speakers and components can take a beating 4- Peavey is very good to work with. I get very quick customer service responses for any issues that arise. -----------heres the cons----------1- the speakers are heavy!!!!! that's the only thing I really cant stand about the speakers!!!!! ----------helpful hints---------- 1- bi-amp the speakers......it just sounds better 2- these speakers are made for very large areas.....they sound awesome outdoors.........ive used these in small bar atmospheres and it works, but just doesn't sound that great.......the sound needs to be able to travel a ways in order to sound good. 3- get the peavey vsx26 crossover/speaker manager.........peavey has presets for the speakers........with improper presets, you'll likely loose a speaker or two (were all armatures at some time or another right??)

LOADS OF POWER

these are awesome and powerful speakers. there are very clear....even when they are cranked up. They can take a ton of abuse as well. the best way to show their true colors is by setting up outdoors. they will shoot the sound out at least a half mile clearly. indoors, the speakers still rock...... but try to find a larger hall to set them up in. these aren't for 20x30 bars......its not they the patrons will go deaf.....they just cound better when you 15 ft away verses right next to them. ive only got two complains with these. first off thes speakers really really heavy at 95+ lbs. secondly, the paint finish, which is very durable......I feel could be made even more durable. ive owned these speakers since may 2014 and have used them for at least 100 shows so far.
