A good invention for vocalist

This KSM 8 (The replacement one I've just got ) is being tried and tested .The handling noise acceptable and lower than the one before. Thanks for the kind response of my assuming defective mic by Sweet water .Compare to KSM9 I've owned ,the mid range around 6K are a little more than KSM9,But the level gain about 4db more than KSM9 .Low frequency more natural , KSM9 60Hz would not heard clearly but KSM9 can be picking up and not cutting away.So little adjust for EQ of high range over 13K will make it sound better for nowadays recording.Overall this is a good dynamic mic for experience vocalist ,pickup better even off miking during performance.Pickup very well and natural not other brand non condenser mic can have this performance. 85% will suggest others to have one,15% left for a little handling noise maybe the gain and the mic in level needed to be concerned and adjust for better live recording sessions.

Takes to EQ very well

The first mic I received had terrible handling noise just like the other review.. I called sweetwater and they sent me a new one right away. The second mic had much more reasonable handling noise, roughly equivalent to my wired SM58 and KMS 105 I compared it to. I'm thinking there must have been a bad batch that sweetwater got. It's a bit low end heavy for a vocal mic, but sticking a high pass at 120hz cleaned it up nicely. Seeing that any half decent engineer would stick a high pass on a vocal mic, that doesn't bug me terribly. I sang into this, an SM58 and a KMS 105 through a QSC TouchMix and QSC K12 to compare. Without EQ, the KSM8 was the darker of the three. In this situation the KMS 105 was the best sounding of the three, as would be expected singing alone without having to worry about bleed or feedback. However after some EQ on all three, I was able to get the best sound out of the KSM 8 (My voice sounded wonderful with a highpass at 120, small dip at 2k and a high shelf at 20hz). I also imagine the KSM8 would deal with bleed and feedback better than the KMS 105, though I haven't tested this much yet. I'm overall happy with this purchase.

Greatest handling noise compare to others.

I've also found that this wireless mic not only have bad isolationof handling noise but the Logo of the capsule is wrong position. What ever I twist back from losen it ,it cannot place as the rightposition that the pict found in your purchase site.It might be a defective product that I 'd purchased. The wireless part work perfectly.Compare to the one I've bought previous wired KSM8 nickel ,the mid range enhance a little bit more through the wireless system. But one thing I must feedback to SHURE that the capsule pick upthe handle noise are the most of all others any kind.I've tried changing into other capsules such as SM 58 ,D factor2,and KSM 9 . They're all normal and acceptable .Slightly tapping and holding the handle with KSM8 capsule wireless ,the handling noise came through speakers and headphones. This is not a professional product to have this symptom. So please check your stock any of the Shure RPW 170/174 capsule Again that's not a professional wireless device should have these handlingnoise .Neither live performance nor recording can accept the happening!Lastly, I felt very disappointed and frustrated about this situation!I've tried the KSM 8 first then decided to purchase this wireless. But I think my decision this time is totally wrong .
