This collection of samples ranges from the age of Zeus to the future demise of mankind. All I can say is... I don't know what to say, I am speechless. If you are a film composer, a computer musician using samples, or a fan of the unique world outside of the ordinary, I have this to say: "PREPARE FOR GLORY!
StormDrum 2, The Next Generation
We love our new percussion drum sample software. The samples are great, fairly easy to access. They are individual samples so you don't have to worry about how to create your own phrases, vs. RMX, which has many many samples, but if you want to change the patterns it's a bit of a chore. There are only 2 down sides - We do wish there were a few more samples in theh library - (e.g., we weren't able to find a kalimba or taiko drums) but for the price it was still worth it. The other is it doesn't appear that you can mix several samples right in the software. You have to create a midi track for each part. But again, for the price, still worth it.
UNKNOWN AND UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
i knew that ewql plug ins were considered a cut above the average programs, but no one told me what i was getting!icannot fathom how they made these sounds, i'm just glad they did!! look no further/
The crown jewel of my sample collection
If you need to get that big "Hollywood sound" on your recordings, this is the way to go. There's a great variety of drum sounds and they're all expertly recorded. The built in MIDI performances are not only useful (and easy to tweak and customize), they're also great for creating perfect drum templates. I've got a big sample library, but I use SD2 in everything I write.
Godzilla with drumsticks; only this time he is on FIRE and with 4 hands!
There's a reason why the folks at Eastwest took longer than expected for this release; and it was well worth the wait too. SD2 really blows away ANY competition that boasts big, epic sounding percussion. The flexibility of this instrument can also be compared to that of Stylus RMX, only SD2 has much better sounding drums for film or soundtrack oriented music.
The immense library of stellar sounds, the simplicity of the PLAY interface, and versatility of the instrument to create your own grooves is just too mind-boggling to put to sensible words. You HAVE to get this and try it for yourself, and let the music you make speak for SD2.
