Designed for total playing flexibility

Peavey's Power Slide sports radical body contours and a multi-point strap system that allows for multiple vertical and horizontal playing styles. Play it seated. Play it standing. The Power Slide doesn't care! If you're already used to playing steel guitar, flip the Power Slide horizontal (even while standing). Or you can conjure Duane Allman and play it bottleneck style.

Unique electronics give you tonal versatility

The Peavey Power Slide's magnet-loaded pickup is fitted with a patented variable coil mode control dial, for a continuous range of tone between beefy humbucking and sparkling single-coil. Good value for the money

I bought the Powerslide 'cause I wanted to be able to stand while performing lapsteel stuff. I had read previous reviews and knew what to expect. So I was not surprised to find a good basic lapsteel that needed some work to make it performance ready. As with previous reviewers, the one I got needed to bridge moved about 1/4 inch away from the nut to intonate properly at the 12th fret. Also, several of the nut and bridge slots needed to be filed to angle away from the strings' playing areas to eliminate string buzzes and rattles. These were simple fixes and, once done, make the Powerslide a good performer. I'm still working on a way to keep the Powerslide further away from my body while standing so that I can reach the high positions with reasonably good technique, but I think I've got that one solved too. The Powerslide sounds fantastic and has a good range of great tones from the pup when coupled with the "humbucker to single-coil" tone knob. So, for the little $ I spent, I'm happy with the purchase. Having said that, I would have rated it higher if those problems I solved (above) would have been solved in the manufacturing and setup processes before the Powerslide was shipped to me.
