MASSIVE

I got this about a year ago and recently moved out of my old place and brought this to my new place and my second time putting this together, one of the cross members broke. Other than that this desk is absolutely massive and sturdy! I love it!

Pretty Good

I received my ProRack 88 today. It's a monster, plenty of space to put all of your kit within easy reach. Setup was super easy and went like the video, screw the legs on, hook up the cross braces, done.Once I had the desk set up, I discovered a couple minor issues:1. I have an older Fantom X and it was about 1/4" taller than the keyboard shelf clearance. RAB Audio must have known that not every keyboard would fit using the standard layout so they provided an extra set of pre-drilled mounting points for the sliding track around an inch lower. Brilliant! The problem I ran into was that their screws do not appear to have standard Phillips proportions and they're really tight. After attempting to use a screwdriver to move the brackets, I gave up and grabbed a drill. That worked but I ended up stripping one of the screws. On one side I have 2 screws holding up my keyboard instead of 3, it seems stable enough so no big deal.2. The other issue I ran into was that the left side rack rails are a fraction of an inch lower than the right hand rails. This made mounting anything in the bottom two positions impossible (if you want to use all 4 rack screws). This was true for both racks on the desk. I was able to get the stuff I wanted to mount mounted, but the bottom units don't have screws on the left side. The desk is made out of fiberboard so it's heavy, make sure you have a friend available who can help you haul it into your house. FedEx will only deliver it to the curb, the rest is up to you.All in all this desk was exactly what I needed so I can't complain too much. I have a place for my keyboard instead of an X stand off to the side and I have some room to grow. It's not perfect but it's pretty good.A couple suggestions for improvement:1. Add extra screw holes at 1/4" increments for the keyboard shelf.2. Fix the rack spacing.3. Provide extra screws and a bit with the correct dimensions for them. For $1500, it should be perfect.
Music background: Pro musician, producer, all of the above.

2 Years On

After 2 years of using this desk, I have come to hate it passionately. There is not a night that goes by that my wrists don't ache from the trim not being flush with the desk surface. I've long since abandoned any hope of using the keyboard tray, it's knee knocker if you have your chair high enough to use the computer keyboard. I've spent hundreds on Amazon trying to make it comfortable (wrist pads, mouse pads, keyboard trays, etc). I've got enough room for my Virus, MPK, and Maschine, but I don't have room to tweak my 6176 in the right rack. Next time around I think I'll try to find a good master carpenter to build me exactly what I need. I don't think it's possible to order it off the shelf.
