The Beast!!

Many speak of the classic Van Halen "brown sound" that we all know and love and the Wampler Pinnacle certainly delivers that vibe with this pedal. After spending a week tweaking it and dialing it in with my rig I was impressed with the range of the pedal and it's overall versatility. The upper gain levels can be a bit messy but the responsive Tone and Contour knobs can level it out just right with some experimenting and the Vintage/Modern switch is like having two pedals in one.

EVH and MORE!!!

I've always Loved the classic Van Halen tone. This pedal MORE than covers that "sound". I cannot play like Eddie Van Halen by any stretch of my imagination but, i love the area that the Pinnacle covers. From AC/DC to RATT. Aerosmith to Guns n' Roses (Appetite and Illusion Album Tones) you get it right here in the Wampler Pinnacle. Hell, you can even capture Green Day's "Dookie Mod" tone in this bad boy. If you're into hot-rodded Marshall/Classic Rock Tones, get yourself The Wampler Pinnacle. Thank you to AJ Becerra and Sweetwater for the awesome 5-star service and the follow-up. Versatile and toneful!

I finally purchased a Pinnacle from Sweetwater after looking at this pedal for several years. I have a small backup board and wanted a stand alone distortion pedal to replace my MI Crunch Box. The Crunch Box is very good, but after recently switching back to Fender amps I found the absence of a mid range control to be problematic. I purchased the Pinnacle because of its more advanced eq, and I have not been disappointed. I now have complete control of my mids and can get the pedal to sit just right in the mix with my clean Fender amps. All of the controls actually work well and this pedal has a lot of range as far as tone shaping goes. One surprise has been clean up, this pedal cleans up extremely well when rolling the volume off and will produce some nice mid gain crunch tones. I would say this is one of the best distortion pedals ever made. I would have given it a 5 but sometimes I hear some slight fizzy overtones I don't like, although it's not enough to make me dislike the pedal. I'm not an EVH fan, I use the pedal for classic rock and other styles and it works very well. The classic "brown sound" is there - but it will do much more. Highly recommended!!

The Wampler Pinnacle Overdrive absolutely nails the infamous "Brown Sound"  In my home studio, I typically use a smaller all-tube amplifier for recording, and with the help of this pedal, I can achieve that hot-rodded British stack sound that is unmistakable.  The Vint/Mod switch allows for me to go from a classic sound to a more modern overdrive that really shines.  The boost switch is perfect when I need a bit more of a signal gain for soloing.  It brings my out my signal enough to soar and then fall seamlessly back into the mix to finish out the song.
