definitely makes a difference

Very simple for me to use. I actually don't even put it on the floor...it's on all the time. It's especially effective going through the PA board direct as it seems to drastically cut down spikes, especially when I do the small amount of slapping I tend to use during our sets. Soundman actually came up to me after gig (not knowing what I was doing() and asked how much compression I was using as it sounded great using the same board settings as always for me. Right now the volume and effect (middle knob) seem to work well at around 1 o'clock. I don't use much of the sustain setting. Only critique is I don't really like the sound of the fuzz / grunge/ dirty know so I just leave it off.

Super quiet compressor, 2 pedals in one

Just received today and put through the paces with fender jazz and 2 2x10's. They aren't lying about how quiet this thing is. It really does not add any hiss that other compressors do. And I'll probably sell my boutique overdrive pedal because the grit function is crazy good. It's only 1 setting, on and off, but can you say "muse"? Very transparent with a blend for mixing original signal to preserve attack. My only gripe is that yes you can use 9 volt supply (mine is a 1 spot) but it sounds SO much better with the 18 volt supply that comes with it. The notes are a touch distorted on attack using 9 volts no matter what changes I made to device or bass. But it does do such a good job that I'm willing to deal with plugging in an extra power supply. Or maybe upgrade to something else from the 1 spot. In their defense they do say it will run better on 18 volts, so OK.

Love it

After looking around, asking my bass player brethren, and sampling a few, I found this to be a perfect fit. I play my P/J Bass through this and boy does it add the punch and sustain I was looking for. I don't care for the distortion switch at all, but I wasn't looking at that to begin with. For overall tone, volume, and sustain this is a great pick.

Packs a punch

Overall, I am amazed with the sound this pedal has brought to my live rig. I play in a rock cover band with a 5 string bass, so I need to be able to shift gears with my tone pretty quickly. The compression and sustain are killer, and the controls are straightforward. Plus, it is build like a tiny tank. The only thing I dislike about the pedal is the grit switch is BURIED between the other knobs and is impossible to get at with your foot. If you don't want to bend down awkwardly with your bass hanging on you mid-song to toggle the switch, you are left with the option of using or not using the entire pedal for the song.

not for me

After giving this thing a solid trial at rehearsals and gigs, I've decided that my bass rig(s) sound much better without this pedal in the chain. Its been sitting in the box in my pedal storage cabinet collecting dust since I bought it. I should have bought the Aguilar compression pedal!
