    Works great!

This thing works exactly as you would expect it to. Solid build as well. I try not to wind it too quickly on my Les Paul because i dont know if using a drill at full speed will damage the tuners. Just be careful to use it as straight as you can so you avoid rubbing against the headstock.

    Incredible time saver

It works perfect with my hand-held power screwdriver. Makes changing strings so much easier and faster. It helps a lot with the old vintage style Tele tuners where you need to keep tension in order to avoid the string from popping out.

Oh, and it works fine with all types of tuners!

    Time saver!

No complaints here! I have this attached to a Black 'n' Decker electric screw driver that I hardly ever used in the past, Now I use it all the time. You can buy one the Ernie Ball string winding guns... but if you already have an electronic screw driver... this is all you need. Trust me, this makes stringing a guitar a much easier ans faster task. Well worth the price.

    Works great!

No reason to give anything less than 5-stars. This tool works as advertised helping speed up the restringing process. I had one of those manual mechanical winders that work good but require a slight balancing act as you keep tension on the string w/one hand while winding w/the other. I use this with a B&D 3-position rechargeable screwdriver and *voila* string changing is quick and easy. I was concerned about the power screwdriver possibly going too fast (like a power drill) but it is actually slow enough to control the winding of the string on the tuning post and the tool does not damage the machine head tuning knobs. I use it on my Taylor 314CE, LP Custom Classic, Fender American Standard, and especially my Gibson B-4512N (12 strings to remove and replace is a chore made much easier with this tool and a power screwdriver!)

Definitely Worth It The First Time You Use It!

I've been setting up several guitars lately and this winder is excellent! I couldn't tell you how many of those cheap winders you get at the counter of your local shop I've gone through over the years. The cup on this thing is made pretty beefy, unlike the usual flimsy plastic on the cheapo crank winders. I just did a setup on a Strat and it worked flawlessly. Now I really have a use for that little Black & Decker power screwdriver. No more cranking with a winder like a mad monkey!

I also tested it on my bass and it worked just fine for that too. The Lester is next on the list. Do yourself a favor. If you work on guitars much, or at least go through strings quickly, this little gem will definitely find a home in the top drawer of you tool box. The only thing I will be dong to this winder is cutting a piece of rubber or cork to fit in it. This will keep the winder firmly on the tuning peg, but away from the edge of the headstock. Buy one NOW!!!
